Dragon boat racing<br />
This sport took off in <strong>Trinidad</strong> 10 years ago for<br />
Chinese Bicentennial celebrations; the national<br />
team since has won several medals at the World<br />
Championships. Regattas are organised by the<br />
T&T Dragon Boat Federation, mainly in Chaguaramas<br />
(<strong>Trinidad</strong>) and Pigeon Point (<strong>Tobago</strong>).<br />
Football (soccer)<br />
T&T has hosted the FIFA World (men’s) Under-17<br />
championships and Women’s Under-17<br />
FIFA world championships. It is also the smallest<br />
nation ever to qualify for the World Cup finals<br />
(2006). The Hasely Crawford (Port of Spain),<br />
Manny Ramjohn (Marabella), Larry Gomes (Arima),<br />
Ato Boldon (Couva), and Marvin Lee stadia<br />

Golf<br />
<strong>Trinidad</strong> has three 18-hole courses (St Andrew’s<br />
Golf Club in Moka; Millennium Lakes in<br />
Trincity; and Petrotrin’s Pointe-à-Pierre Golf<br />
Club), and three nine-hole courses (Chaguaramas;<br />
Usine St Madeleine; and Brechin Castle in<br />

Horse-riding<br />
Dressage and show jumping instruction is available<br />
from Saddle Valley Stables and Valmont<br />
Stables (Santa Cruz); Goodwin Heights Stables<br />
and Jericho Stables (St Ann’s); Sandy Hill Stables<br />
(Freeport); and Horses Helping Humans (hippotherapy,<br />
Maracas). For trail riding, contact Hidden<br />
Valley Stables (Chaguaramas) or Bonanza Farm<br />
Riding School and Country Club (Arima).<br />
Motor sports<br />
Rally and drag racing are both popular, with locations<br />
in south and central <strong>Trinidad</strong> like Couva and<br />
Preysal. Events are hosted by the T&T Rally Club<br />
(like the Championship Series and International<br />
Rally) and T&T United Drag Racing Association.<br />
Swimming & aquatics<br />
A new world-class National Aquatics Centre<br />
opened in 2016. It is intended to be a hub for<br />
local sports including water polo and diving, and<br />
to attract international swim events as part of a<br />
