Dear Colleagues<br />
I’m pleased to introduce our <strong>Learning</strong><br />
<strong>Catalogue</strong>, where you will find all the<br />
learning options available to Henry Boot<br />
employees in 2018.<br />
Many of the options available have been<br />
formed from the recommendations made by<br />
the One Henry Boot working groups as part<br />
of the One Henry Boot project.<br />
The aim is to ensure that there is a clear and transparent approach to<br />
Personal Development, to keeps us aligned with our Purpose of<br />
empowering and developing our people. This will enable all employees<br />
to improve motivation and engagement, and make the Henry Boot<br />
Group an even better place to work.<br />
<strong>Learning</strong> has been categorised into five areas which will support<br />
business performance and improvement and ensure that individuals get<br />
what they need to perform to their best, improve their skills and grow in<br />
confidence.<br />
Our financial results and performance are dependent on our people, and<br />
we firmly believe that the capability, skills and diversity of our people is<br />

The courses in this <strong>Catalogue</strong> are a great place to start your learning<br />
journey and cover a variety of topics at different levels such as; Asbestos<br />
Awareness, Microsoft Office, Contracts, Professional Qualifications and<br />
Self-Awareness.<br />
Personal Development Review (PDR)<br />
Your PDR is an ideal opportunity to discuss learning and development<br />
needs with your manager. However, we actively encourage you to<br />
discuss your requirements on a regular basis with your Manager and use<br />
this <strong>Catalogue</strong> to help these conversations.<br />
How do I identify what learning is right for me?<br />
As we all know there are many ways of learning such as, learning from<br />
our colleagues, being coached/mentored, reading books or articles and<br />
watching videos.<br />
This <strong>Catalogue</strong> focuses mainly on courses, and includes some topics<br />
suitable for everyone and others which are designed for specific roles or<br />
groups. Each course will specify if there are any pre-requisites.<br />
In all cases you should agree with your Manager before you book or<br />

What is it?<br />
Henry Boot is committed to meeting its regulatory obligations and takes<br />
the health, safety and compliance training of all our people seriously.<br />
There is some learning that all of us need to undertake to ensure that<br />
we all take responsibility for making Henry Boot a healthy and safe<br />
working environment.<br />
Who is it for?<br />
No matter what job you do there will be some elements of Manadatory<br />
<strong>Learning</strong>. Whether that is understanding how to deal with a specific<br />
piece of equipment safely, meeting mandatory requirements for site<br />
access or dealing with sensitive information in the appropriate way.<br />
How does it work?<br />
The type of content and level of training offered will be job role specific<br />
and identified by the Mandatory <strong>Learning</strong> Matrix. The whole process for<br />
Manadatory <strong>Learning</strong> is managed centrally, whether for a new employee<br />
or for renewal of existing competence.<br />

Windows 10 has a number of built-in features to provide a better enduser<br />
experience. These features include multiple desktop views,<br />
applications, and improvements to the Command Prompt. This course<br />

Your PDR is an ideal opportunity to discuss your learning and<br />
development needs with your Manager.<br />
However, you don’t need to wait until then to tell us what courses you<br />
are interested in. Early requests help us to plan and schedule our<br />
courses based on demand.<br />
Take look at the courses, email us with your requests, then later confirm<br />
this in your PDR with your Manager.<br />
