For A New Generation<br />
A Unique and Timeless Legacy<br />
S<strong>in</strong>ce 1948, the <strong>Sweet</strong> <strong>Briar</strong> <strong>College</strong> Junior Year <strong>in</strong> France Program has been the signature, immersive language<br />
and cultural experience <strong>in</strong> <strong>Paris</strong> for qualified students from American colleges and universities. In<br />
partnership with renowned <strong>Paris</strong> universities, <strong>JYF</strong> offers a high-quality academic program tailored to <strong>in</strong>dividual<br />
language goals, while explor<strong>in</strong>g the many facets of French life and culture for a semester or a full academic<br />
year.<br />
Across seven decades, the program has hosted nearly 7,300 students from over 280 colleges and universities<br />
throughout the United States, help<strong>in</strong>g students achieve French language fluency and advanced <strong>in</strong>tercultural<br />
skills to prepare for leadership and success <strong>in</strong> a global workplace. Dur<strong>in</strong>g the current academic year, <strong>JYF</strong> hosts<br />
41 students from 20 U.S. <strong>in</strong>stitutions study<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> <strong>Paris</strong> universities, <strong>Sweet</strong> <strong>Briar</strong> Center and the American Bus<strong>in</strong>ess<br />
School of <strong>Paris</strong>.<br />

Now, <strong>in</strong> celebration of <strong>JYF</strong>’s historic 70th anniversary, we <strong>in</strong>vite the support of our program alumni as we<br />
cont<strong>in</strong>ue to ref<strong>in</strong>e and grow <strong>JYF</strong> <strong>in</strong> step with the needs and aspirations of a new generation. At a time when<br />
l<strong>in</strong>guistic and <strong>in</strong>tercultural skills and bridge build<strong>in</strong>g are more needed than ever, the <strong>JYF</strong> program has a big<br />
role to play. Your support will help us give more students from diverse backgrounds and with diverse life and<br />
career goals the opportunity to step beyond the day-to-day campus experience and <strong>in</strong>to an environment that<br />
challenges assumptions, builds empathy and awareness, and expands their horizons.<br />
