Faculty of Law<br />
Hebrew University’s Faculty of Law is the<br />
oldestandmostprestigiouslawschoolinIsrael,<br />
with notable alumni including two Israeli Prime<br />
Ministers,mostjusticesonIsrael’sSupremeCourt,<br />
numerous ministers and members of the Knesset,<br />
prominent legal academics, Attorneys General, and<br />
leading attorneys. The Faculty maintains extensive<br />
contacts and relations with international researchers,<br />
students, and academic institutions. Eighteen<br />
institutes and centers specialize in specific areas<br />
of law including the Clinical Legal Education Center<br />
(CLE). The CLE provides high quality legal aid,<br />
freeofcharge,tounderprivilegedindividualsand<br />
groupswhileencouraginglawstudentstoembrace<br />
social responsibility as a fundamental pillar of legal<br />
professionalism.<br />
Faculty of Science<br />
TheFacultyofSciencefollowsinthesteps<br />
of the original group of brilliant scientists who<br />
founded Hebrew University. The Faculty encompasses<br />
research institutes and teaching departmentsinthemajorfieldsofEarthSciences,Life<br />
Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics,<br />
together with the School of Engineering and<br />
Computer Sciences, and a Science Teaching Unit.<br />
Among its research institutes are those that<br />
specialize in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology,<br />
Applied Structural Biology, Marine Biogeochemistry,<br />
Computational Quantum Chemistry, Mathematical<br />
Analysis, and Molecular Dynamics. More<br />
than 600 innovations and 2,000 patents have<br />
emerged from the Faculty of Science, which is<br />
home to 90 research groups. Faculty members<br />
have been awarded five Nobel Prizes and one<br />
Fields Medal in recent years and have received six<br />
Wolf Prizes over the past three decades.<br />
Faculty of Social Sciences<br />
TheFacultyofSocialSciencescomprisesninedepartments:<br />
Geography, International Relations, Economics, PoliticalScience,SociologyandAnthropology,Statistics,Psychology,<br />
Communication and Journalism, and the Integrative<br />
Interdepartmental Program in Philosophy, Economics, and<br />
Political Science. The Faculty of Social Sciences is HU’s<br />
largestfacultyandaimstoilluminateawiderangeofissues<br />
related to human societies. Emphasis on providing students<br />
with knowledge and practical tools is a core tenet of the<br />
Faculty of Social Sciences, which fosters groundbreaking<br />
research and a spirit of communal and societal commitment.<br />
Faculty of Medicine<br />
Established by HU and the Hadassah Medical Organization,<br />
the Faculty of Medicine educates leaders in the<br />
medical community and propels cutting-edge interdisciplinary<br />
research. Medical professionals from over 90 countries<br />
aretrainedwithinthefiveschools:theMedicalSchool,the<br />
School of Occupational Therapy, the School of Public<br />
Health, the School of Pharmacy, and the School of Nursing.<br />
Individual research centers and institutes engage in pioneering<br />
international partnerships, such as the HU and Cleveland<br />
Clinic Center for Transformative Nanomedicine. Other<br />
fundamental and applied research focuses on biomedicine,<br />
with the aim of unlocking the mysteries of diseases and<br />
findingthekeystotheircauses,treatments,andprevention.<br />
DrugresearchanddevelopmenttakesplaceattheInstitute<br />
for Drug Research (IDR), one of the top 10 drug science<br />
research institutes in the world.
