How do YOU see faith?
Our Lent course this year is called Faith Pictures
and is designed by Church Army. This is a short
course designed to help Christians talk
naturally to friends, neighbours and colleagues
about what they believe. The heart of the
course is about helping people to identify a
single picture or image that embodies
something of their faith. This is because the
kinds of communication which best stick in the
mind are concrete and rooted in story. The
course aims to be accessible and light-hearted,

The course has the following sessions: Opening the conversation, The power of the
ordinary, Travellers’ Tales, Talking pictures, Companions on the journey and Hidden
opportunities.
Lent this year begins in mid-February. As in previous years, it is hoped that this course
can be run across the Clyne Trinity Ministry Area. Firstly, we need people prepared to
open their homes and act as hosts. Secondly, we need people prepared to lead the
course material, all of which can be viewed online and is free. If you would like to be
involved in hosting, or leading a group, please contact Canon Phillip at your earliest
opportunity. By the end of the month, we need to have details of venues and days and
times – to enable people to sign up to attend.
It is hoped that we will be able to cross parish boundaries, to make new friends – and to
share our Faith Pictures.
News from Bruckmuhl
I've just heard from the conductor of youth choir, Lisa May, that Harald the group leader
and Pastor will retire on 21st January 2018. However, several of the sub-leaders have
decided to work together, as they have so enjoyed the area and our relationship with
them since 2004, and they are hoping to return with a group in the summer of 2018.
They are waiting to see what the take up will be, so it is not farewell but aufiedesen "until
the next time” - we’d better start saving and cooking again!!
Our friends from Bavaria wish to send their love to you all this Christmastide and New Year
and I have sent a reciprocal message on behalf of all at St Hilary and St Martin.
