Gyula, a historic spa town with many open exhibitions, is inviting its guests during the first half of the second
day to visit two of the most prestigious venues. In the Gyula Castle, „history will take you by hand” - in
the only remaining flat Gothic brick building of the former Hungarian Kingdom, 24 exhibition halls show
how the prison of the castle, the baker’s shop, the dispensary, the blacksmith’s and the potter’s yard looked
like. Guests can find out how the castellan and the chatelaine lived, how different the office of the Turkish
leader was in comparison with the Hungarian one or what weapons they fought in the past centuries. Following
the visit of the castle, our guests are invited to view our town’s most recent and extraordinary exhibition,
aligned also to the highest European standards, the site of the Visitor Information Centre of Almásy
Castle. “Storyteller Castle” - Almásy Castle offers with the help of the 21st -century interactive technology an
experience of discovery. In the wonderfully restored mansion, our guests can not only get to know the lives
of the noblemen, but they also find out who lit a fire in the fireplaces, how many liters of water were consumed
on a single day, who washed and ironed the countess’s lingerie, what was on the staff’s agenda, which
was their daily tasks – and after all, where and how did the servants live? How was to be a servant in those
times? How did it feel to put your entire life in the service of a noble family and by being invisible make their

As an evening program, we recommend our Adventure in the cellar program. We offer an exhilarating adventure
in the form of a release game out of a room in the basement, an exciting experience and full of obstacles,
offering moments of suspense for everyone without fear or terror elements. The idea of the game is
to manage to free yourself out of a specially designed locked basement room without using physical force,
simply by solving logical tests. Puzzles, brain teasers, riddles and various locked padlocks will stop your way,
but pair work coordinated and combined with intelligence it can lead you to success!
Adventure in the cellar program operators can add by request and even personalise the game with romantic
elements – which by doing so, could turn out to be the perfect event for a very special and unforgettable
marriage proposal!
During winter time some couples prefer to stay indoors, so for those who are not so keen on adventure,
instead of taking part in the Escape cellar room program, we offer the choice to opt for hotel spa services,
sauna, Jacuzzi or to benefit from a magically refreshing aromatherapy massage.
