CAR MECHANICS SQA GROUP AWARD<br />
Course Outline<br />
This course will allow you to gain experience<br />
in the Motor Vehicle Repair Industry.<br />
You will gain experience working on real cars<br />
and rigs in a workshop environment.<br />
Continual assessment will take place<br />
throughout the course, to make sure your<br />
skills are being fully developed. This course<br />
will increase your chance of employment in<br />
vehicle repair industry.<br />
Entry Level Recommended<br />
Must be working towards 3 National 5<br />
subjects.<br />
Course Content<br />
The qualification is broken into 4 SQA units.<br />
Each unit has its own assessments and<br />
tasks to be completed to show competence.<br />
Unit F8MW 10: The Garage<br />
Unit F8MY 10: The Technician<br />
Unit F8MX 10: The Car<br />
Unit F8NU 10: Vehicle Modifications<br />
Progression<br />
This course will allow a taste of what to<br />
expect in the vehicle repair industry. It will<br />
give knowledge which could assist in getting<br />
a Modern Apprentice position within a<br />
garage or alternatively will help with a full<br />
time place on a further education course.<br />
Interview<br />
There will be a one to one interview for this<br />
course, which will involve answering a few<br />
short questions.<br />
