I have been a small business
owner locally for ten years,
am active in charitable fundraising
both locally and overseas
where I lived for nine years in
England and Japan. I volunteer
with Business Mentors New
Zealand helping resolve issues
facing small business owners.”

Harewood area for
60 years, owning and
operating a commercial property
growing tomatoes and raspberries.
This operation employed
up to 50 people of many different
ethnicities. I am currently
a company director of produce
companies in NZ and overseas.
People are important to me.
I want to create an environment
in Harewood and greater
Christchurch that is conducive
to a desirable quality of life in all
aspects of work, travel and recreation.
I take a common sense
approach to all my decision making
and consider how the decisions
I make affect others. I can
listen, learn and make decisions
on your behalf.

I am the only `local’
incumbent candidate
standing
for Halswell Ward and I have
lived here for 30 years. Living
local and having experience is
important and I bring this to
the table. Many of the people
who I have met in my Halswell
Ward, including children, have
all expressed a desire for a safe
and vibrant community. I will
continue to advocate for this
and include the following: Safer
roads, cheaper CCC pool entry
prices, Halswell Quarry cafe,
continue to listen to my community.

community and across greater
Christchurch to support good
community outcomes on issues
such as resource management,
transport and earthquake recovery.
Initiatives I have driven
include the Halswell Community
Project, the Halswell Newsletter,
the Halswell Community Website
and the Halswell Market . These
required good leadership, communication
with residents, excellent
teamwork and a capacity to
strategise and get things done.
I have a PhD in social science,
a biophysical science training,
and a professional background in
environmental management and
community resilience.

SCIRT programme on
the home straight
SCIRT’s five year programme of repairs to pipes, roads, bridges
and retaining walls is almost complete and we’re aiming to finish
construction in December.
The City Council and NZ Transport Agency will continue completing
ongoing repairs to the city's earthquake-damaged infrastructure
after SCIRT.
Progress in your neighbourhood
• We’re just finishing off repairs to the wastewater network in Upper Riccarton
and Ilam.
• Repairs to underground pipes and roading throughout the Hornby area are
more than halfway through and will be completed in October.
• Essential wastewater repairs in Aikmans Road in Merivale are progressing well
and will be completed at the end of the year.
