is also upgrading wharves
at Currawong and Mackerel
Beach, roads and drainage
on Scotland Island, and new
retaining walls, footpaths,
stormwater drains and foreshore
renewals across the
northern suburbs.
Access to the new Northern
Beaches Hospital at Frenchs
Forest is a major issue, in particular
for people in the north.
I am committed to ensuring
that road access is as good as
it can be. Council is working
with the RMS to investigate
ways to stop the frequent
flooding on Wakehurst Parkway
during heavy rain and to
ensure that the road network
around the new hospital is
efficient and effective.
McPherson Street in Warriewood
is an important connection
and Council is nearing
completion of the upgrade.
One of the really tangible benefits
of the amalgamation is
that Narrabeen Lagoon State
Park is now under the control
of one council and can be
managed and protected more
consistently. We will continue
to work with the Narrabeen
Lagoon Catchment Committee
and the community to ensure
the area is respected, maintained
and enhanced.
There are more announcements
pending such as the
performance space at Mona
Vale. Watch this space!
Since the formation of the
new Council, former Pittwater
has received unprecedented
capital works expenditure
and their debts reduced.
Are there any current

delivered to regions of the
new Council that you would
look at replicating in Pittwater?
For example, we have
been inundated with queries
about Manly’s free ‘Hop, Skip
& Jump Bus’ service?
While I am committed to
an inclusive and integrated
Northern Beaches there is
no one-size-fits-all approach
that will work. We have much
in common but the villages
and towns which make up the
Northern Beaches have their
own distinctive flavor and
feel, as well as needs.
For instance, I am
