KATY COMMUNITY GIVING CIRCLE<br />
NEEDS VOLUNTEERS<br />
The Katy Community Giving Circle is open to any resident in the<br />
Katy area who wants to make a difference by giving collectively. Our<br />
mission is to create a circle of giving in our community by collectively<br />
contributing to organizations that will benefit or improve the lives<br />
of the people in our neighborhoods. By combining members tax<br />
deductible donations of just $10 per month, we are determined to<br />
make a greater giving impact! In our first year we have been able to<br />
gift grants to 2 local organizations and we are building a community<br />

STANDUP FOR KIDS<br />
How would you feel if you saved a kid’s life? StandUp For Kids is an<br />
all volunteer organization dedicated to saving the lives of at-risk and<br />
homeless kids through volunteer outreach efforts. Our volunteers<br />
search the streets in order to find, stabilize and otherwise help<br />
homeless and street kids improve their lives. Every day throughout<br />
the US thirteen kids die on the streets from abuse, disease and suicide.<br />
According to recent statistics Houston has up to 2,500 kids living on<br />
the streets at any given time. Texas has the highest rate of homeless<br />
youth in the U.S.<br />

StandUp For Kids needs supplies for our Houston program, which<br />
provides food, clothing, counseling and a safe environment for the<br />
homeless youth of Houston. If you or your organization would like to<br />
hold a food or clothing drive for StandUp For Kids, please contact me at<br />

single greatest need, for homeless and street kids is our continuous<br />
caring and real support. We must convince them that we care, we want<br />
them back and we want to help them get off the streets.<br />
ADOPT A US SOLDIER<br />
Adopt A US Soldier is a non-profit organization that seeks volunteers<br />
and donors to help show the brave men and women fighting for<br />
our freedom that their sacrifices will not go unnoticed. It connects<br />
supportive civilians with deployed soldiers and offers a channel by<br />
which to communicate encouragement and express gratitude to<br />
those serving in the United States Armed Forces. Adopt A US Soldier is<br />
sustained by its volunteer workforce located across the United States.<br />
After a supporter asked a soldier what they needed, his response was<br />
as follows: “No requests, just don’t want to be forgotten.”<br />

When registering for Adopt A US Soldier your involvement can range<br />
from writing letters and sending postcards, to mailing care packages<br />
full of items a soldier may need or want. Handwritten letters are most<br />
important and meaningful to soldiers. Adopt A US Soldier encourages<br />
civilians to adopt a soldier to show your support for those that are<br />
