Dancing is fun, even more so when it’s done with friends. But for a child,
there are so many more benefits than just learning the steps. Vital life skills
such as concentration, patience with others, managing emotions, respect
and teamwork.
The Jill Bridger School of Dance is proud to have been promoting these
ideals for many years and we are delighted to be celebrating our 30th year
in 2018.
Jill began her dance school in a run-down hall off Mill Road in the centre of
Cambridge. “Despite the cold and the damp, the bumpy floor and worn-out
tape recorder, nothing dampened my enthusiasm to build a school where
every child felt welcome. I wanted to inspire a joy for dancing, where
students achieved as much as their natural ability made possible, acquiring
many happy memories in the process. As I reflect on the last 30 years, the
school’s ethos remains unchanged. It continues to be a privilege to be a
part of the lives of so many young people, and to witness their growing up to
become confident, assured young adults embarking on university or their
own chosen pathways. I delight in hearing from ex-students and I am thrilled
they thrive in all walks of life and endeavours,” says Jill.

The Vicky Grant School of Dance is a
