Campaign Finance Disclosure Act<br />

<strong>Program</strong>s <strong>Program</strong>s and and Services Services<br />

Risk Management, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Louisiana Municipal Association.<br />

The organization became fully operational on January 1, 1987 and functions as the service<br />

agent for the Louisiana Municipal Association inter-local risk pools. The primary purpose of<br />

Risk Management, Inc. is to effectively market and administer the self-funded indemnity<br />

programs, which have been developed to serve the municipalities of Louisiana, and to assist<br />

in the development of new programs to meet the needs of municipal government.<br />

Louisiana Municipal Advisory and Technical Services Bureau (LaMATS)<br />

The Louisiana Municipal Advisory and Technical Services Bureau (LaMATS) was established in<br />

1999 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the LMA. Its mission is simple…to bring economical<br />

and efficient services that assist the LMA membership with their day-to-day business. LaMATS<br />

offers a variety of services and programs listed below:<br />

❖ Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) collection program (annual and delinquent) provides a<br />

comprehensive service of managing all aspects of the annual IPT.<br />

❖ Occupational License Tax (OLT) program can administer all requirements of issuing your<br />

annual occupational licenses.<br />

❖ Delinquent Property Tax Sale (DPTS) This innovative program will take the worry, work,<br />

and liability off of the municipality by providing a comprehensive delinquent property tax<br />

collection plan at no cost to the municipality.<br />

❖ Salary and Benefits Data via SurveyNavigator is a free service provided to LMA members<br />

to provide accurate and current salary and benefits data for every municipal position.<br />

❖ Capital Outlay Consulting service provides your municipality a free consultation with an<br />

experienced and seasoned expert in the field of applying for Capital Outlay grants.<br />

❖ Grant Research service provides free access to a renowned web-based grant research<br />

program.<br />

Louisiana Municipal Gas Authority (LMGA)<br />

The Louisiana Municipal Gas Authority (LMGA) is a political subdivision created by the State<br />

Legislature in 1987. Funding for the LMGA’s activities is derived solely from fees paid by its<br />

members who control its activities. The LMGA was created for the purpose of developing,<br />

arranging, and promoting adequate, dependable, and economical supplies of natural gas for<br />

the public good.<br />

Louisiana Municipal Association of Unemployment Compensation <strong>Program</strong><br />

The Louisiana Municipal Association of Unemployment Compensation Fund (LMA-UEC) program<br />

was inaugurated in 1979 for the sole purpose of saving municipalities money on payments of<br />

unemployment compensation claims and/or taxes.<br />
