Hello Everyone.
Phew, what a couple of weeks! Manager resigns, New Manager appointed, Kane Rowland
signing a contract, Miles Cornwell leaving!
Its great that the majority of players have stayed and I like
to think that this is because of respect for Aslan and the
club in general, and especially respect for the supporters.
I hope that you all like the new web site. I had to start
from scratch with it as there have been problems in gaining
complete access to the old one. The address had
changed slightly but is now back at
www.sittingbournefc.co.uk, although
www.sittingbourne.uk and www.sittingbournefc.com all
work! The reason for the change is that after 3 years of
the “new” site and free hosting courtesy of Thermal Printer
Services Ltd the web master at TPS has parted ways
with the company, and I didn't have 100% control over the
site so I had to keep on asking him to add and delete
some content himself. This was not ideal as it introduced
a delay in updates. Also TPS wants to stop using the
server that was hosting the site so I made the decision to
completely revamp the site so that I have 100% control
and can put other innovations on it such as streaming. I
know its not as swish or modern looking as the old site
but I believe it does include a lot more information and is
easy to use. One downside is that the match reports from
the last 3 years are lost on the site, however they are not
completely lost as I have copies, but it will take some time
to put all of the links back. The links to the matchday programmes should all still work though!
The postponements of home games causes a lot of time wasted and expense with wasted
printing, so for some of the midweek rearranged games in April I will, where possible, be producing
joint Saturday / Tuesday programmes. Finally I am including in this programme an excellent
explanation of the promotions and relegations for this season at steps 3 to 5 (we are
step 4) and how non league at those levels will look next season.
