St. Peter’s Preschool and Kindergarten is pleased to report another successful year educating young learners in
the Lake Mary/Sanford community! We are extremely excited to have full enrollment this year with a healthy wait
list. God has blessed St. Peter’s Preschool and Kindergarten with great abundance and his presence is felt when
you enter our classrooms. Our teachers and staff truly embody love and joy and do an amazing job sharing that
love and joy with the families we serve.
As a fully enrolled program, we are ministering to 105 children in our preschool and kindergarten programs and
an additional 20 children in our Mother’s Day Out program. Each week we welcome over 120 students and their
families to this campus through our school. What an honor. And what a community impact!
Our school thrives due to the amazing group of people God has brought together. Thank you to our loyal and
dedicated teachers, administration team, and to our School Executive Committee members Sandy Robinson,
Pete Lyons, Shanna O’Donnell, and Carl O’Neil for their service to our school. And thank you to our families who
trust us with the first steps in their child’s educational journey.
We wish to thank the members and staff of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church for their years of commitment to and
support of our school. We ask that you continue to pray for our school; that we may continue to provide a
healthy program based in faith, rooted in love, and dedicated to providing the best to all whom we serve.
A few highlights from our year include:
Morning Prayer and Chapel Time
• We added a morning prayer time with our 4s and
Kindergarten. Each day those classes gather together
in the sanctuary and begin their day with prayer and
song.
• Our weekly chapel continues to be shaped into a
true age appropriate time of worship for our students.
Incorporating prayer, song, hearing of God’s word,
and sharing God’s love with others, chapel has
become a wonderfully spirit filled time loaded with
enthusiasm, joy, and worship! Many parents join us
each week for our chapel time as well, offering us a
unique opportunity to spread the Good News to our
families as well.
Kindergarten Continues to Grow with focus on STEM
in the classrooms
Excellent Support from our St. Peter’s Leaders
• Our School Executive Committee continues to meet
quarterly offering assistance and feedback to the
school regarding facilities, finances, marketing, curriculum,
and personnel, as well as ensuring we continue
to move forward with goals outlined in our school
strategic plan.
Giving Back
• Our school collected over 3 shopping carts of
supplies for the Hurricane relief efforts in the fall and
collected over 100 cans of food at Thanksgiving which
was donated to Harvest Time International. Our
Kindergarten class took a field trip to Harvest Time to
help sort towels and sheets that would be sent to
Puerto Rico as part of their disaster relief efforts.
• Our Kindergarten program is seeing consistent
growth, so much so that we moved it to our biggest
classroom in 2017. We cap our class size at 13 to make
sure we can provide individual attention to all our
students. We continue to build on our philosophy of
active participatory learning, adding new social studies
and science curriculum as well as multiple field trip
experiences.
• We are working with Kim Hudson, expert in education
technology and STEM learning, exploring new ways to
increase technology and STEM opportunities in our 4s
and Kindergarten classrooms.
