OWL PROWLS<br />
Houston Audubon Docent Guild sponsors 4 owl prowls for the<br />
2017-18 season. Owl prowls begin with a lively program on owls<br />
including an opportunity to meet live, rehabilitated owls followed<br />
by a walk in the woods in search of wild owls. For more information,<br />
to reserve and pay online go to www.houstonaudubon.org. Owl<br />
Prowl dates - <strong>March</strong> 9, <strong>2018</strong>. Owl Prowls start at 7 PM, end at 9 PM<br />
and begin in the log cabin at the Edith L Moore Nature Sanctuary.<br />
The fee is $12 for adults and $8 for children (ages 6-17). All prowlers<br />
must be at least 6 years of age and there must be at least one adult<br />
present for each two children. Dress for walking in the woods and<br />
the weather. Please park in the Memorial Drive United Methodist<br />
Church west parking lot at 12955 Memorial Drive or the Sanctuary’s<br />
small lot at 440 Wilchester. Pre-registration is required and there is<br />
a maximum number of participants for each prowl.<br />
LOCAL CHARITIES HOST 2 ND ANNUAL KATY COLOR RUN<br />
The 2 nd annual Katy Color Run will be held Saturday, April 7 th at<br />
Kingsland Baptist Church. The color-filled run will consist of a 5K<br />
run and a 1K kids’ dash. The community event will also feature<br />
entertainment, food trucks and vendors and a kids’ fun zone.<br />
Proceeds from the run will benefit local nonprofit organizations:<br />
Christ Clinic, Clothed by Faith, Compassion Katy, Hope Impacts<br />
and Katy Christian Ministries. The Ballard Foundation is the title<br />
sponsor of the event.<br />

The benefiting nonprofits provided thousands of people with medical,<br />
food, clothing and shelter needs after Hurricane Harvey. Christ<br />
Clinic offers medical care to uninsured and underinsured patients.<br />
Clothed by Faith gives gently used clothing to thousands of Katy<br />
area residents in need. Compassion Katy’s connects churches,<br />
businesses and nonprofits to provide solutions to meet the needs<br />
of the community. Hope Impacts imparts hope to homeless and<br />
under resourced people in the Katy area by connecting them to<br />
services and resources. Katy Christian Ministries offers food and<br />
emergency financial assistance to those in need and also offers<br />
many other resources to the community including a domestic abuse<br />
center and a resale store.<br />

helps raise money to help send our FFA<br />
students to district, state and national<br />
Leadership and Career Development<br />
competitions, the Texas FFA State Convention as well as providing<br />
educational tools for our FFA teachers. In the past, teams of four<br />
from our school, family teams, local business teams and community<br />
teams have signed up for this competition. We also provide online<br />

CAF HOUSTON WING’S WARBIRD WEEKEND<br />
AND OPEN HOUSE<br />
On Saturday and Sunday, April 14 th & 15 th from10 AM until 5 PM,<br />
those big, old airplanes with the mighty round engines will be flying<br />
again as the Commemorative Air Force’s Houston Wing presents<br />
its <strong>2018</strong> Warbird Weekend and Open House at Hangar B-5, West<br />
Houston Airport. Get up close and feel the prop wash and hear the<br />
