GGRENADA
TEXT - FLY ALL WAYS - INGRID MASSELINK | PHOTGRAPHER - ERWIN NELES
Grenada is also called ‘Spice Island’ because of the production of nutmeg and mace
crops and it is one of the world’s largest exporters. The island’s capital is St. George's
which has about 110.000 inhabitants.
BEACHES
Grenada has some of the finest beaches in the Caribbean. The most spectacular is
Grand Anse, with a stretch of more than a mile and a half of snow white sand and
clear blue water. Besides Grand Anse, Mome rouge is a nice beach with snorkeling
opportunities. All Grenadian beaches are open to the public, and none are marred
by imposing hotels or concrete apartment blocks, thanks to the island’s sensible
building code.
