WEEKEND AND OPEN HOUSE<br />

On S<strong>at</strong>urday and Sunday, April 14 th & 15 th from10 AM until 5 PM,<br />

those big, old airplanes with the mighty round engines will be flying<br />

again as the Commemor<strong>at</strong>ive Air Force’s Houston Wing presents its<br />

<strong>2018</strong> Warbird Weekend and Open House <strong>at</strong> Hangar B-5, West Houston<br />

Airport. Get up close and feel the prop wash and hear the noise as radial<br />

engines power these historic WWII aircraft. See some of the old planes<br />

your f<strong>at</strong>her, grandf<strong>at</strong>her or grandmother learned to fly for World War II.<br />

Admission is $15 per CAR <strong>at</strong> the g<strong>at</strong>e or $10 per car if ticket is purchased<br />

in advance online (check our website or facebook page for details)<br />

and earns you a day of aircraft and military vehicle displays, museum<br />

exhibits and fun.<br />

Warbird rides will also be available for purchase.<br />

Food, drinks, gifts and souvenirs will be available. Come on out and honor<br />

NATURE PROGRAMS FOR<br />

PRESCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN<br />

SATURDAYS IN NATURE<br />

This program is held on the fourth S<strong>at</strong>urday of each month <strong>at</strong> the<br />

Edith L. Moore N<strong>at</strong>ure Sanctuary, held between 1 and 4 PM. A guided<br />

n<strong>at</strong>ure walk will begin <strong>at</strong> 2 PM. No reserv<strong>at</strong>ions required. Don<strong>at</strong>ions are<br />

encouraged. This is a “whole family” program; parents or other adult<br />

guardians should particip<strong>at</strong>e with their children. Park in the Memorial<br />

Drive United Methodist Church parking lot <strong>at</strong> 12955 Memorial Drive,<br />

enter the n<strong>at</strong>ure sanctuary through the marked g<strong>at</strong>e and proceed on<br />

the p<strong>at</strong>h to the log cabin. Upcoming programs include <strong>March</strong>: Wildflowers<br />

- Craft: Seed Starters. April: Bird W<strong>at</strong>ching - Craft: TP Binoculars.<br />

THE TITMOUSE CLUB<br />

The Titmouse Club is a n<strong>at</strong>ure program for children ages 2 ½ to 5 sponsored<br />

by the Houston Audubon Docent Guild. The program is offered every<br />

Tuesday and Wednesday morning, 10 to 11 AM, from mid-September until<br />

mid-May <strong>at</strong> the Edith L. Moore N<strong>at</strong>ure Sanctuary, 440 Wilchester Boulevard.<br />

Each week fe<strong>at</strong>ures a different n<strong>at</strong>ure theme and may include n<strong>at</strong>ure talks,<br />

stories, hands-on activities and walks in the woods. For more inform<strong>at</strong>ion,<br />

go to www.houstonaudubon.org and look under Audubon Docents. The<br />

cost is $5 per child per session or a 5-session card can be purchased for $20.<br />

The child must be accompanied by an adult during the program. Park in<br />
