Trash Pick-up<br />

Trash days are every Wednesday and S<strong>at</strong>urday.<br />

Tips:<br />

• Have trash out the night before your service day<br />

• Allow clear and easy access to the containers<br />

• All trash must be bagged and should be placed in cans, this helps<br />

keep animals from getting into your trash and making a mess, for<br />

which WCA is not responsible for<br />

• Dogs should be properly restrained<br />

• All needles/sharps should be sealed in a metal or heavy plastic<br />

container<br />

We do not accept the following:<br />

• Car or truck parts<br />

• Hazardous waste<br />

• Car or truck b<strong>at</strong>teries<br />

• Asbestos<br />

• Animal waste or carcasses<br />

• Paint or house hold chemicals<br />

• Oil, gasoline or anti-freeze<br />

• Yard waste, grass, leaves, sticks, etc.<br />

In case of hazardous road conditions WCA will do everything<br />

possible to perform scheduled services, however, if they are unable<br />

to complete routes they will pick up everything on your next<br />

scheduled service day. WCA does not issue credits for act of God<br />

we<strong>at</strong>her conditions.<br />

IMPORTANT REMINDER ABOUT TRASH CANS<br />

Trash collection days for POA of <strong>Canyon</strong> <strong>Village</strong> <strong>at</strong> <strong>Cypress</strong> <strong>Springs</strong><br />

are Wednesdays and S<strong>at</strong>urdays. Trashcans MUST be stored out of<br />

public view except on days of trash collection.<br />

NEIGHBORHOOD SAFETY AND FRIENDLY REMINDERS<br />

When walking your pets, please keep them leashed and please<br />

clean up their waste.<br />

Keep your car doors locked and keep your porch lights on to deter<br />

criminals from breaking into your car.<br />

It is illegal to park within 30 ft. of a stop sign, within 15 ft. of a fire<br />

hydrant, blocking a sidewalk, on the curb or sidewalk or horizontal<br />

in your driveway. When parking in a cul-de-sac, the passenger side<br />

wheels should be within 18 inches of the curb, it is illegal to park any<br />

other side of the vehicle towards the curb. Make sure your visitors<br />

park correctly so they do not get cited for illegal parking.<br />

DID YOU KNOW…<br />

It is illegal to post fliers on mailboxes. From section D041 of the<br />

United St<strong>at</strong>es Postal Service’s Domestic Mail Manual:<br />

“No part of a mail receptacle may be used to deliver any m<strong>at</strong>ter not<br />

bearing postage, including items or m<strong>at</strong>ter placed upon, supported<br />

by, <strong>at</strong>tached to, hung from or inserted into a mail receptacle.”<br />

Please remember to abide by the laws the legisl<strong>at</strong>ure has put into<br />

place regarding personal signage and refrain from posting on<br />

REMEMBER TO SCOOP YOUR PET’S POOP<br />

Please remember to be respectful of your neighbors’ yards and<br />

the community areas. When you take your pet for a walk, come<br />

prepared with a scooper and a plastic bag for this purpose. If your<br />

pet poops during your walk, please scoop and trash. It is a common<br />

courtesy and respects your neighbors and community.<br />

Notify the Sheriff Department immedi<strong>at</strong>ely <strong>at</strong> 713-221-6000 if you<br />

see any suspicious persons, vehicles, or activity.<br />

Report any graffiti to the office; if you see or hear anyone vandalizing<br />

report it immedi<strong>at</strong>ely to the Sheriff’s department and notify<br />

the office.<br />

Please be an active part of your neighborhood! Much of the criminal<br />

activity in the neighborhood can be stopped if we all w<strong>at</strong>ch out for<br />

our neighbors and our community.<br />

STREET LIGHT MAINTENANCE<br />

If you notice a street light outage, please call Centerpoint Energy <strong>at</strong><br />

713-207-2222. They will need to know the number on the pole and<br />

the nearest street address. You may also report the outage online<br />

<strong>at</strong> www.centerpointenergy.com/outage.<br />

ATVs, dirt bikes, pocket rockets, scooters and other motorized vehicles<br />

th<strong>at</strong> are not street legal are subject to cit<strong>at</strong>ion and your own risk. No<br />

motorized vehicles are allowed around the w<strong>at</strong>er retention areas (such<br />

as the track) as posted on the signs by Harris County Flood Control.<br />

Please report any unauthorized motor vehicles or parking to the<br />

Sheriff’s Dept. 713-221-6000.<br />

Going on vac<strong>at</strong>ion and want to make sure your home is secure?<br />
