from the reporter’s desk
news
I WAS lucky enough to visit the Okains Bay Museum last week.
Ian Day has been tasked with the job of bringing the museum
up to professional industry standards.
He seems like just the man for the job and was hugely
knowledgeable – and passionate – about the collections.
It is of national and international importance and I could see
why when I visited; spellbinding.
Photographer Martin Hunter and I popped down to the store
for a pie afterwards. We’d left it too late unfortunately and
they’d sold out, so we stopped at the Little River Diner instead.
Delicious.
Read about Ian Day and what he’s up to on page 4.
On another note, Christchurch Regeneration Minister Megan
Woods is asking for public comment on rezoning Redcliffs Park
as a school.
The saga continues. Make sure you have your say.
