TUTORING & EDUCATION Brain4Maths Brain4Maths is a project run by University of Oxford’s scientists investigating how the brain supports maths in children and young adults. The study involves a safe brain scan using an MRI scanner to collect brain images and a session involving a series of puzzles. We are currently recruiting children aged 6, 10 and 14, and A-Level students in their first year who are not studying Maths. Children receive a voucher and a Brain Art certificate to say thank you for taking part. Parents will also be compensated for their time. To know more contact Laura at brain4maths@gmail.com or 07464 755 010. Or google Brain4Maths. Un…deux…trois…allons-y! Children and staff at Cokethorpe Junior set off on their annual sponsored walk, in aid of local charity Special Effect. The theme this year was the Twin Town Challenge, to celebrate the link between Witney and its French twin, Le Touquet. The sponsored walk is just one of the many fundraising events that takes place across the Junior School. Fundraising within school is an important part of learning, the children gain confidence, improve communication skills and learn about personal responsibility and the importance of contributing to their community. Fundraising also continues in the Senior School with pupils holding bake sales, non-uniform days and even an annual 24-hour football match. www.cokethorpe.org.uk 8 Primary Times EASTER Issue | www.primarytimes.co.uk/oxfordshire
