event helps raise money to help send our FFA students to district, state<br />
and national Leadership and Career Development competitions, the Texas<br />
FFA State Convention as well as providing educational tools for our FFA<br />
teachers. In the past, teams of four from our school, family teams, local<br />
business teams and community teams have signed up for this competition.<br />

CELEBRATING KATY HOMETOWN HEROES<br />

The Arc of Katy Board of Directors will present The Arc of Katy <strong>2018</strong> Gala -<br />
Celebrating Katy Hometown Heroes on Friday, <strong>April</strong> 20 th to raise funds for<br />
programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities<br />
(I/DD) and their families. Guests at the fundraiser gala, which will be held<br />
at the Omni Houston Hotel at Westside (13210 Katy Freeway. Houston, TX<br />
77079), will be entertained with a reception, seated dinner, program, silent<br />
and live auctions, dancing and other fun activities.<br />
Also at the Gala, The Arc of Katy will present two of the organization’s<br />
key supporters with the Ann Davis Founder’s Award and The Arc of Katy<br />
Volunteer of the Year recognition. In addition, as a new feature of the Gala<br />
in <strong>2018</strong>, The Arc of Katy is honoring two of our Katy Hometown Heroes<br />
who make this community a great place for our program participants and<br />
members to live, work and thrive.<br />

6 TH ANNUAL “STRIKE OUT” AUTISM <strong>2018</strong><br />

An exciting family fun day providing focused on educating and empowering<br />
others about the leading developmental disabiliy in the United States -<br />
autism. 7,500 fans and supporters, Hope For Three, County Judge Bob<br />
Hebert, all 18 City Mayors, 300 volunteers and the Sugar Land Skeeters,<br />
host over 400 family members from the autism community to a day full of<br />
friendship and baseball.<br />
Volunteers “buddy” up with a child prior to the game for play time on the<br />
field or in the playground area. During this time, parents and caregivers<br />
enjoy a social hour in the company of other adults at the Bud Light<br />
Pavilion; a rare occasion for many, a first-time opportunity for most<br />
