MARKETING
Since 1986, I have worked in sales or
advertising environment. I have always
loved the idea of my helping to
influence the success of a business
through imagination and creativity.
I started my journey selling Televisions
and Videos for one of the UKs largest
companies in that space. I was hooked.
The art of persuasion came easily and I
realised early on that one of the
reasons I was so successful at it was
because I actually cared! It was about
so much more than hitting a sales
target every week, although that came
into it of course!
In the last 20 years or so I have been
helping small and medium-sized
business owners to make more sales.
This has been achieved through the
effective and creative use of various
types of advertising mediums.
Today, I am going to share 3 top
marketing tips with you.
These tips and ideas can help anyone
achieve better sales results, so take a
few moments to look them over. I hope
you find the following marketing tips
useful. More importantly, I hope you do
something with them.
MARKETING TIPS #1: THROW
THAT OLD MARKETING GUIDE
IN THE BIN!
My first tip is this: If you want to avoid
wasting stacks of money and missing
countless sales opportunities, throw your
old marketing guides in the bin!
You need to know what works today and
the marketing landscape changes almost
on a daily basis! Now I am not saying
that more ‘traditional’ forms of marketing
don’t work anymore. They do! But maybe
you need to add something else to really
boost your results?
I would always check the date on any
material I am using as research.
Definitely, do this before putting any
marketing tips or marketing tactics into
place.
TIP #2: CONTENT MARKETING
Content marketing works. At least it
does as long as the material you
produce is good quality, Content
Marketing can and does work REALLY
well.
So what is content marketing? It is a
type of marketing that involves the
creation and sharing of online material
that does not explicitly promote a
brand. It is intended to stimulate
interest in its products or services.
Content Marketing includes:
- Videos
- Blogs
- Social media posts
How does Content Marketing work?
You create a website, blog, newsletter
or podcast. You use it to provide FREE
information that has real value to a
prospective client. It offers them an
opportunity to purchase goods, services
(or both), which are closely linked to the
information you give away.
I’ve spoken about Content Marketing
with thousands of people. The most
common question I get asked is:
“But If I give all this valuable Content
Marketing information away, surely
people will simply do the job
themselves?”
There are 3 groups of people, who will
read your Content Marketing.
The first group is small. They are 'freebie
seekers'. These people never ever pay
for professional help. They were never
prospective clients, so you lose nothing.
The second group is the largest. These
prospects will try and do it themselves but
will hire professional help if they are not
getting the results they expect. They do
eventually value genuine expertise.
The third group is the smallest. These are
the rare people, who value their time. They
understand that by hiring an expert to do
something correctly for them, it works out
a lot less expensive. They also know that
the results are better and things happen
faster.
Here’s what that means to you:
1. No one in the first group was going to
spend a dime with you anyway. You lost
nothing by giving them free information.
2. Some of the people in the second group
will use your information. They will have a
go at doing the job for themselves. Others
in the group will see that they need expert
help, and some of those people will
contract your services.
3. With the third group, you must
demonstrate through your own Content
Marketing that you truly are an expert in
your field. They will then hire you. They
already know all about you and your work.
They trust you.
Ignore anyone, who tells you that ANY
content will do. This is not the case.
We are beginning to see many of the early
Content Marketing gurus starting to panic.
Google has become increasingly good at
filtering low-value material from their
rankings.
E M A I L M A R K E T I N G
TIP #3: EMAIL MARKETING
Email marketing is extremely costeffective.
It is undoubtedly one of the
most powerful marketing tools available
to small businesses. It must be used
correctly and skilfully. It provides
predictable results and costs little or
nothing to use.
One huge benefit of email marketing is
that YOU not only build your network…
YOU own it!
You also should look at having an email sign-up
box on your website or blog. It should be easy
to read and positioned in an uncluttered area of
your site where everyone will see it.
If you are asking people to subscribe to your
newsletter offer them something of value.
It’s really important to let people know you will
never pass on their email details to anyone.
You spend time and money building your
Facebook Page to get your posts shown to
just a tiny fraction of your followers. If you
want all of your fans to see your posts you
need to pay Facebook. Facebook owns
your network! Email marketing puts you in
control and allows you to build an
increasingly valuable asset.
Here are just a few things for you to
consider, before you start using email
marketing.
I suggest that you build your own email
database. You can short cut this process
and purchase from a rather than buy one
from a list broking company. You must
ensure that the SPAM legislation
requirements are all covered by the list
provider.
The first thing to do to start building your
own list is to ask all your existing clients
and contacts if you can have their email
address if you don't already have them.
Ask if you can contact them from time to
time via email with a newsletter or special
offers or announcements. This will get you
started. So long as you ONLY contact
these people with useful information, and
make it easy for them to share your
newsletter, your list will grow… in size
and value.
I recommend you only send one email message
every 14 days or so. You don't want to become
a pest! As a direct result of not bombarding
people with emails, people looked forward to
receiving your messages. Few people will ask to
be removed from your subscriber list.
Finally, try asking your readers to forward your
emails on to their contacts. If the content is
good enough, they will – but never assume
anything, always ask them. Include a message
at the end of every newsletter, which says
something like this:
“If you have had this email forwarded to you by
a friend and you would like to receive a regular
copy, you can subscribe here and get marketing
tips direct to your inbox.” (Then link from that
text, to the newsletter sign up page on your
site.)
Let me know if you need help with any of this!
How she did it?
The Social Secret is my pride and joy! I had
been working in the training space for a while,
specifically training new business owners on
the skills they needed in order to be
successful. The content provided to me to
train was generic and really not ‘intense’
enough for these business owners. I’d always
be asked so many questions at the end and it
got me thinking - if I developed my own
program that was individualised, specific and
met the needs of each business owner. So…..I
did!
What is your greatest professional
accomplishment to date?
I was at a huge expo earlier this year and had
someone come up to me and say ‘hey, are you
that chick from The Social Secret?’. OMG,
seriously I felt like a superstar. She even
wanted a pic with me (WTH?!) Loved it.
I’ve also recently been asked to speak about
social media at a big National Dance
Competition that will house teachers and
studio owners from across Australia. REALLY
looking forward to that.
W I T H M A R E E S O R T I N O
What does being a business owner mean to
you?
It means flexibility. I know I’m not working
any less (in fact, I’m working more hours
than I ever have) but I get to take my kids
to school every day and pick them up. I get
to take them to after-school activities and
with a home office, I get to work in my PJs
– YAY!! On a serious note, it means that I
get to help business owners succeed on
social media! This is truly my ‘why’. I get
such a kick out of knowing a small business
has been successful on social media as a
direct result of something that I’ve helped
them with. Really gives me a great sense of
satisfaction.
What would you say are the top three skills
needed to be a successful woman in
business?
1. Patience: Running a business is not a
sprint, it’s a marathon. Develop a plan of
attack that’s realistic and doesn’t burn you
out.
2. Motivation: It’s so easy to throw in the
towel if things don’t go your own way or
you experience setbacks. Stay focused and
committed to your end goal and when you
feel down, look at how far you’ve come
rather than how far you have to go.
"Go with your gut! As females,
we’re very intuitive creatures and
if something just doesn’t feel
right, there’s a reason for it".
3. Ability to switch off: This is SO
important and one I’m still working on. I
purposely don’t have my emails on my
phone. If I’m in the office, that’s my work
time. I do, have Facebook however and in
my line of work, that’s probably even
worse. LOL. I think having dedicated ‘work’
time and dedicated ‘nonwork’ time is a skill
that we all need to have!
What business do you admire
the most and why?
In terms of someone who’s out
there inspiriting and motivating
people in the social media
space, it would have to be
Kerwin Rae’s business. He is
AMAZING. The passion and
dedication he has to see his
clients succeed is so admiring.
I want to be the female Kerwin
Rae.
Have you had to make any
sacrifices whilst running your
business?
Absolutely! The number of hours
I’ve put in to get the business to
where it is hasn’t come without
sacrifice. Endless hours on the
computer.
What are your top 5 goals you
want to achieve for the next 12
months?
1. Have a staff member (or 2)
assisting with the running of
training.
2. Run 3 or 4 group style
workshops with a minimum of
10 people in each session.
3. Be working 4 days a week
4. Set up proper values, mission
and vision for the business.
5. Get my mail database up and
running effectively.
How do you measure your
success in business?
I measure my success through
the success of my clients. Are
they happy? Are they doing well
on social media? Have they
taken on board the things I’ve
told them? If the answer to
these is Yes, then I’m successful
too!
"I measure my success
through the success of
my clients."
What is one thing have you
learned as a small business
owner that has served you well
over the years?
You can’t please everyone! I
had a hairdresser once call me
saying ‘if I do your program, will
I get 2000 likes on my Facebook
Page?’ I was slightly taken
aback by the statement and
honest with her….no, I can’t
guarantee that. I explained I
could show her what she
needed to do to be more
engaging and provide content to
her followers that was specific
to their needs. She did book the
session and indicated she learnt
a lot but again, went on about
increasing her followers to
2000.
I told her, I’d rather have 500
followers that were engaged,
commenting and sharing my
posts than 2000 that weren’t.
I’m not sure if it sunk in but I
have definitely learnt that there
are some people that will be
very difficult to please….which
can be difficult as I take it
personally.
What are your top 5 business
tips?
1. Have a strategy when it comes
to social media – don’t just wing
it!
2. Have a great understanding of
who your ideal customer is and
focus your social content on that
avatar.
3 Ensure the content you publish
is entertaining, inspirational and
educational. If you tick those
boxes you’re doing well.
4. Read your reporting!!!!
Facebook and Instagram have
insights. Use them to help you
know when to post!
5. Schedule your posts! It’s so
useful to sit down once a week,
work out what you’re posting and
schedule it all rather than doing
it on a daily basis.
Why did you become a WBS
Member?
Why wouldn’t I! I’d heard about
WBS from Tina Okey and
thought ‘what’s this group
about’ and went along to a
networking event. I was clearly
thrown into the deep end on
that day when Karen Kennedy
shoved her phone into my hand
and said “you’re the Facebook
expert…go live” (thanks
Karen). I loved the energy, the
warmth and the genuine
connections that these women
had with each other. I joined
the next day!
Have you ever taken a selfie? Is there anyone alive under the age of 65 who have not done this yet? It would
seem like a silly question these days, but I can remember a time when you would turn the camera on yourself
and hope that when the film was developed, you would have taken an awesome photo. With all this amazing
'BUT FIRST... LET'S TAKE A SELFIE'
technology, here are some quick and easy tips to follow to ensure that you take the best selfie. Here are some
quick tips for you to get that perfect selfie.
QUICK & TIPS TO GET THE BEST SELFIE
L i g h t i n g
Lighting - this will make
or break your selfie. You
want to make sure that
any shadows and dark
spots on your face are
evenly lit. You can easily
achieve this by going
outside and facing the
sun (with sunscreen on, of
course!) or finding a
window in your home and
standing in front of that.
The other thing you can
do, if you’re really trying
to nail the selfie, is to
grab a piece of white
paper or a white
cardboard and place that
on your chest facing up
towards your chin/face.
This is what we call a
‘reflector’ and will fill in
some of the shadows
caused by harsh or dark
lighting. The best time to
take a selfie outside is
during the golden hour, as
with any professional
photography. The lighting
is soft, golden and
gorgeous! Some of the
newer smart phones will
allow you to use flash
whilst the camera is
turned on selfie mode.
This is by no means a
perfect solution, but it
does ensure that shadows
and other imperfections
are not highlighted by
lack of light.
Kristie Dutson from Inspired Portraits.
– LIGHTING
WILL THIS
OR MAKE
YOUR BREAK
SELFIE

Everyone wants to look amazing a selfie
Posing
so let’s get the posing right.
Holding the camera slightly above your eye
line ensures that you naturally look up and
avoid the dreaded ‘double chin’. If you also
angle the phone slightly, with the top
coming towards you and the bottom of the
phone going away, this can also help with
creating appealing angles. Have a genuine
smile. Fake smiles stand out and even
worse, the Kim Kardashian duck-lip face!
Try saying to yourself, YES! just prior to
pressing the shutter or if you feel inclined,
YASSSS! for an even bigger smile.
Experiment with angles. You will begin to
see what angles make your face ‘pop’ and
what angles don’t. Change it up often too.
No one wants to see 100 photos on your
Instagram, using the same pose, same face
and same angle!
P A G E 2 2 | S M I L E , C A M E R A , A C T I O N

Whether we like it or not,
technology is here to stay and
Background
will
only get bigger and better as the
years progress. Nowadays,
companies are paying ‘Insta celebs’
to take selfies with their product
or brand in the background. It’s
certainly becoming a big business.
But for us, taking your own selfie
to be your profile picture or to
show where you’ve been, it’s less
important to be brand aware. It is
important though to have an
appealing background. Angle your
camera to fit in the top of the
buildings, place it in landscape
mode to include more scenery.
There’s so much you can do with
your phone camera these days so
don’t be afraid to experiment.

Filters
Saying that word as a professional
photographer feels like I’m eating
glass! I dislike them, a lot!
However, to be fair to the whole
‘selfie’ genre, I will touch on it.
When choosing a filter or an
editing app, the selection is vast.
The only advice I would offer here
is that less is more. Don’t go
overboard. Filters that soften the
photo is always more flattering
for a woman and let’s face it
ladies, we all want to look
amazing! There is nothing worse
than seeing one of your beautiful
photographs put onto social
media with a hideous filter having
been applied.

Selfie Stick
Last but not least, invest in a
selfie stick. You don’t look
ridiculous in 2018 using one. You
may have in 1998 but not now. It
has become part of our culture
and of those around the world, to
take photos of yourself whilst
travelling, during events etc.
Purchase a good one too. You
want one that can be extended
and rotated with ease.
So, get out there and show us
your best Selfie! I’ll show you
mine, if you show me yours.
When I was about 5 or 6 years old, I would tell
everyone that, "I am going to be an artist when I
no fears of judgments, no asking myself am I really
good enough? I had absolutely no doubt what I
would do for a job as it was as natural to me as
my amazing career in design and of all my
A Journey to
the future
F O L L O W Y O U R
P A S S I O N
In true Wendy style, I have taken a very long
and winding road to arrive at the artistic place
I sit today. I did have a place at art college in
my teens, but I turned it down! Yes, I turned it
down, went traveling, came home and took up
a place at University study nursing. I'm not
really sure why... I think I naively thought I had
all the time in the world. I worked for many
years in children's nursing and then eventually
had my own family. I was always creative in my
work and with the activities with my 3 children.
We had a good life, traveling the world as well
as living in Europe then Australia with my
husband's work. We were in Melbourne for 7
years, and it was whilst I was there that the
calling to actually work in design became too
strong to ignore, and I enrolled at RMIT to
study Textile Design.
My son, Samuel had been a huge influencing
factor in this decision, as at the time he was 6
years old and reminded me of myself at that
age, where he drew and coloured every day in
such boldness that his pictures were too special
to throw away; I began to digitize them to print
onto fabrics and t-shirts for gifts & mementos
for friends and family. The idea was received
so well that it grew into a small business, Little
Scribblers. I decided from there that I needed
more education & business guidance. Samuel
had given me back the creative fire in my belly
and inspired me to enroll in Art School . What
an amazing experience! It opened doors at
Myers and Cap Gemini and helped me focus on
my own label, Wendy Frances Designs, and
Little Scribblers.

V O L U M E 2 3
"...but above all, when I worked on my art, my
heart would just sing. I couldn’t ignore that any
longer. I knew I didn't have all the time the
world"
Life really would be boring if everything ran
smoothly! After I finished my studies, we
unexpectedly had to move back home to UK,
and yet again, my design aspirations were put
on hold whilst I went back to work as a
Community Nurse. My work as a nurse was
fulfilling and gave me inspiration and
perspective on the road I was traveling, but it
wasn't enough.
It never ceases to amaze me how the universe
will always pull you back into line and redirect
you to the right road and this happened to me
on a few occasions over the years, but this
time - I was listening. I worked by day in my
nursing job, and by night I designed, created
and formed a body of work to show at local
exhibitions and open studio events. My textile
art and small collection of fabrics were
popular, but above all, when I worked on my
art, my heart would just sing. I couldn’t ignore
that any longer, and I knew I didn't have all
the time the world, so after a shift in my life at
the end of 2017, I decided to resign from my
nursing job to pursue Wendy Frances Designs
as a full- time career.
INSTAGRAM
TIPS
B Y T H E S O C I A L S E C R E T

As a social media nerd (yes, I actually do call myself that), I sometimes
find myself confronted with business owners who tell me their
Facebook or Instagram horror stories. They’ve enlisted help along
their business journey and it just hasn’t worked out for them. They’ve
been burnt and they’ve lost trust. And as we know, TRUST is crucial
for any business.
As the famous Zig Ziglar once said “If people like you, they’ll listen
to you. But if they trust you, they’ll do business with you.”
It got me thinking! If you, as a business owner is looking for help with
social media, what are the top things you should be considering when
looking for that right person to take your business to the next level.
P A G E 4 0 | I N S T A G R A M T I P S

THE SOCIAL SECRET’S TOP FIVE TIPS FOR INSTAGRAM
1. Make sure
your feed
looks great!
Seriously, I get the feels when I see an
Insta feed that just looks good. Make sure
it flows nicely. You might want to
consider using the same filter on every
image you post or stick to the same 4-5
colour palette through your feed to give
that consistency. Some businesses even
break up their feed by following a certain
pattern (for example, Image, Quote, Image.
Image, Quote, Image).
2. Plan
ahead
I speak to so many business owners who
just post when they remember. Is that
you? I get it…life is busy, so sometimes
it can be difficult. On 30th Jan,
Instagram announced they’ll be rolling
out a self scheduling tool! YAY!
Businesses have had to rely on 3rd party
apps to do this and don’t get me wrong,
they’re fabulous but can be costly when
you manage a few pages! Really looking
forward to seeing this implemented. Until
then, if you did want to look at 3rd party
applications for planning your content, I
suggest Plan (just type it into the app
store!).

3. Nail your
bio
You have about 3 seconds to make a good
impression when someone visits your Insta
page. They’re likely to first scan your feed
and if they like the look of that, they’ll
then have a quick read through of your bio.
Long sentences are a NO NO! Think about
short, sharp, witty dot points that resonate
with your target market! Look to the left to
see examples.
4. Use
appropriate
Hashtags
You need to put thought into your
hashtags! They’re important! Like, really
important. In fact, they’re so important
that now, you can even follow specific
hashtags on Insta in the same way you’d
follow a person or business. So, my advice
to you is RESEARCH! Think about what
sort of terms your ideal market would type
if they were to look for you. And use a
good mix of hashtags. You’re allowed up
to 30 so mix it up and get creative! Oh,
and I would also pop the hashtags into the
first comment as opposed to the caption.
It looks neater and you’ll still come up in
searches! There’s some talk that
Instagram penalises you for putting
hashtags into the first comment but as at
Jan 2018, I haven’t found this to be the
case.
5. It’s called
‘social
media’ for a
reason….so
socialise!
When you go to a face to face networking
meeting, it’s a 2 way street. You talk to
people and they talk back. You engage in
conversations. So think of Instagram as an
online networking meeting. People will
like and comment on your posts so
reciprocate. Go out there, find like-minded
businesses/people you want to interact
with and start a conversation! I tell my
clients to set their timer for 10 minutes 3
times a week and go on a ‘socialising
Carolyn King is on a mission to help people find
real and lasting happiness and is especially
passionate about helping those that have hit
their rock bottom.
Kinesiology is a great way to help relax and
relieve stress. Our bodies can hold quite a bit of
stress and quite often we are not aware of just
how much we are holding on to. Emotional
stress can lead to tight muscles, headaches and
poor posture and all of this adds to the stress on
our bodies. The issue with this is that when we
are stressed, we can’t think clearly and creativity
and productivity can be lost. But there is a way
to help release this stress – GET MOVING!
Movement is one of the best ways to release
stress.
So here are my 3 favourite movement exercises
you can do anywhere to relax your body and get
it ready for creativity and productivity in your
Cross
Crawl
There are many studies out there
that show definitively that
completing one take completely is
more constructive than
multitasking. The task is
completed quickly and more
accurately. Your attention is solely
focused on one thing so there is
less chance of an error or mishap.
So if the task is something that
requires greater concentration,
and needs to be right the first
time, stop multitasking and
instead concentrate on the task at
hand. Once it's done start on the
next task.
Auriculars
Our ears have many pressure points which are connected to
many of our neck muscles. Stress, poor posture or just
sleeping on the wrong angle can often leave us with
tightness in our neck. The pressure points in our ears help
to release the tension in our neck muscles giving us more
movement. It almost feels like you are lubricating your
neck muscles.
HOW TO: Use your thumbs and index fingers to pull your
ears gently back and unroll them. Begin at the top of the
ear and massage down and around the curve, ending with
the bottom lobe. Repeat three or more times.

Breathing
into your
belly
Stress, poor posture and habits can all
contribute to shallow breathing.
Consciously bringing your awareness
back to your breathing can help
increase oxygen levels which is needed
by the whole body.
HOW TO: Rest your hands on your
stomach. With your chin tucked and ribs
relaxed, blow out all the air in your
lungs in short, little puffs (as though
keeping a feather airborne). On each
short exhalation, press your navel
inward toward your spine. Now take a
slow, deep inhalation, gentle refilling
your lungs. Repeat this a few more
times.
Then slowly inhale and exhale from
your belly. Arch your back slightly at
the waist so the air can go even deeper.
Repeat a few times. And then slowly
return your breathing to normal.
Just a word of caution with this as
sometimes you may feel a little light
headed due to the increased oxygen in
your body so make sure you are seated.
I hope you have enjoyed these tips to
help relieve stress in your life. Give
them a go and feel the stress in your
body subside. And if you want to see
these exercises in action, head on over
Budgeting 123
The science of being rich isn't all
about budgeting, but to bring
yourself clarity & a peace of mind
such that you can create and be in
action about it, then you need to
be friends with your finances.
Style Identity
Any body type can look beautiful.
Use your attribute to perfect your
style. Get to know what parts of
your body are great and what isn't.
Then use the art of dressing to
accentuate the good bits and hide
the rest. Find what works and what
doesn't. Cross things off the list. In
other words edit. That's how style
is revealed.
To be brave is not to do something
extraordinary, but to have a belief in
yourself that no matter what you have
to overcome or what is before you,
you are strong enough, intelligent
enough and able to make it happen. ~
Tina Horwood ~
My journey in business started long before I
booked my first client, long before I put it out
to the world that I was ‘open for business’
and long before I was even qualified as a
personal trainer. The journey started the day
I stood with courage and said ‘no’. No to
living by someone else’s rules, no to doubting
myself and no to not believing enough in me.
For me, being in business is not just about
making a name for myself, or about making
money, or having the biggest office or the
best studio (though, they are definitely the
reward). Being in business is the biggest
personal development journey in this life
time. Why? Because to be the standout in
my industry, to be known as the expert, to
influence and change the lives of my clients
and the people around me I need to be the
best version of myself, and to be the best
version of myself requires me to be brave and
face the challenges.
I used to run in shame, scared of the
unknown, scared of the ‘what if’s’ and the
shame of judgement and rejection, am I even
good enough? This shame held me prisoner
in a space of frustration, at times depression,
and the overwhelming feeling of
hopelessness.
I clearly remember one night laying in my
bed, my body wracked with sobs desperately
questioning the silence, ‘Why me, why can’t I
achieve my dreams’. Have you ever been
there?
I F O U N D M Y B R A V E I N T H E
M O S T U N U S U A L P L A C E …
We each have that pivotal moment in life and
in business, where the decisions we make
challenge the status quo. When we listen to
your own inner voice, our gut, and take a stepin
faith towards achieving our dream. Many will
tell you what and how it should be done, or
that you shouldn’t do it at all. When all is said
and done, you have two choices, let the
doubters rule the day, or stand and be ready to
face the challenge, show courage, be brave and
tell yourself ‘Who Am I Not to Live My Life
Purpose’? I’d found my brave the day I started
to believe in me!
Five years after the dream of having my own
business was born, I am a braver, wiser,
stronger and have a near-unshakeable belief in
myself. I say, ‘near unshakeable’ because there
are days when I allow the doubt, the negative
talk and the words of those who challenge me,
to creep into my inner being. But thanks to 5
years of being brave in business, being willing
to face the challenges head-on and find a way
around them, what once stopped me now
propels me forward headfirst towards my
dreams. N O M A D I C | 2 4

Be brave enough to stand up to the fear of
rejection. For every no takes, you one step
closer to the next yes. As women, we tend to
be emotionally attached to our product or
service and often feel that when it is rejected
it is a reflection of us, but this is so far from
the truth.
“Believe in yourself and back yourself to
come out on top. A fulfilling and successful
business is waiting for those brave enough to
pursue it” – Richard Branson
The greatest gift we can give ourselves is
self-belief. People around us will treat us
how we treat ourselves. Often, I see
intelligent, passionate and driven women
hold themselves back because they lack that
self-belief. They look for an external
validation that they are strong enough, smart
enough or creative enough to succeed. For
years I was frustrated, knowing I had good
ideas, and the potential to change lives yet
my-self-belief was that I needed permission
and for my ideas to be validated. Permission
from my family, close friends and some
business associates to validate that I was on
the right path.
What if what I wanted to do was a
stupid idea? What if it didn’t work?
What if no one came? What if the
price was too high? What if!
Well I say, what if I didn’t face that
fear? What if I wasn’t brave? Where
would I be now? I would still be
stuck in frustration, not moving
forward.
If you don’t go after what you want,
you will never have it. If you don’t
ask, the answer will always be no. If
you don’t step forward, you’re
always in the same place.
Decide that you want it more than
you are afraid of it!
Dear [insert your name], I want you to
know right now, you are enough! You
are brave and you are intelligent
enough to make it happen! When you
doubt yourself, grab your brave tightly
with two hands, you will start to see
that you can do anything!
Business isn’t for the faint of heart. It is
for the brave, the patient, & the
persistent.
