THERE’S A very good reason
they call Frank Endacott, Happy
Frank.
He’s generally got a smile on
his face – like the one we have on
page 1 today.
Frank and his son Shane,
another good league player in
his day, have taken over a car
yard in Moorhouse Ave – not
too far from the former home
ground (Lancaster Park) of what
was once, but not so more, rival
football code.
The business venture is Frank’s
latest since he gave up his coaching
days which spanned the
tremendous Addington sides of
the early 1980s, the Kiwis, champion
British side, Wigan, and of
course the Warriors.
He was recently, and deservedly,
inducted into the Sporting
Legends of Canterbury, and is
still a player agent for the big
league clubs in the NRL and
English competitions.
“At 70-years-old I’m putting
more hours into the day than I’ve
ever done in my life,” he said.
“You never stop learning no
matter how old you are.”
Says it all, really.
