I<br />
write this with sunshine pouring in through the window<br />
of the <strong>Wealden</strong> <strong>Times</strong> offices, wearing three less layers<br />
of clothing than were necessary even last month.<br />
Spring really is here. And what better way to embrace<br />
this most glorious time of new sproutings and<br />
beginnings than getting out into the garden? Our<br />
annual gardens <strong>supplement</strong> is chock full of ideas and<br />
practical expert advice to inspire and guide you.<br />
And continuing the horticultural theme, we’ve also<br />
got exciting news about the <strong>Garden</strong> Hub at the<br />
<strong>Wealden</strong> <strong>Times</strong> Midsummer Fair in June (which<br />
can never come around soon enough for me).<br />
Among the brilliant speakers this year, you will have the<br />
chance to meet the real David Archer. Yes, that David<br />
Archer - or at least the actor who plays him, the fabulous<br />
Tim Bentinck, who will be talking about his new book<br />
Being David Archer. (Shall I say it again? David Archer!)<br />
With any luck that will be a gorgeous sunny summer<br />
day, meanwhile – embracing <strong>April</strong>’s rainy reputation<br />
- our fashion editor Kate Watts has chosen the best of<br />
the stylish new generation of waterproof jackets which<br />
keep the wet out without making you feel like a boilin-the-bag<br />
curry – or look like a train spotter.<br />
