NATURE PROGRAMS FOR PRESCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN
SATURDAYS IN NATURE
This program is held on the fourth Saturday of each month at the Edith L.
Moore Nature Sanctuary, held between 1 and 4 PM. A guided nature walk will
begin at 2 PM. No reservations required. Donations are encouraged. This is a
“whole family” program; parents or other adult guardians should participate
with their children. Park in the Memorial Drive United Methodist Church
parking lot at 12955 Memorial Drive, enter the nature sanctuary through the
marked gate and proceed on the path to the log cabin. Upcoming programs
include April: Bird Watching - Craft: TP Binoculars.
The Titmouse Club
The Titmouse Club is a nature program for children ages 2 ½ to 5 sponsored
by the Houston Audubon Docent Guild. The program is offered every Tuesday
and Wednesday morning, 10 to 11 AM, from mid-September until mid-May at
the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary, 440 Wilchester Boulevard. Each week
features a different nature theme and may include nature talks, stories,
hands-on activities and walks in the woods. For more information, go to
www.houstonaudubon.org and look under Audubon Docents. The cost is $5
per child per session or a 5-session card can be purchased for $20. The child
must be accompanied by an adult during the program. Park in the Memorial

After School Nature Explorers Club
Nature Explorers Club is designed for school-age children (ages 6-10, K-5 th )
who are interested in investigating the natural world. Each month we will
explore a different ecology topic, focusing on our own native plants and
animals. We will make a craft to take home, go on a nature hike, dip-net for
fish and tadpoles in the ponds and get to know the plants and animals of
the Bayou City! Fee/reservations are required. Reserve your child’s spot at

WILD WEST BREWFEST
May 5 th
The Wild West Brewfest is gearing up for its 7 th year! Over $600,000 raised
for charities in the past 6 years. Tickets on sale now! Held on May 5 th at Katy
Mills Mall (5000 Katy Mills Circle) The Wild West Brewfest is the only one of
its kind in Katy! This event will feature 150+ Specialty Craft Brewers from
various locations all around the country while featuring over 600 individualized
craft brews!
VIP ticket holders get in one hour early (2 PM) to enjoy the wonderful liquid
that will be offered on property while general Admission opens at 3
PM - event ends at 9 PM. The event will feature many zones that will be of
particular interest to the patron. Multiple Beer Gardens, Game zones, music
throughout the event, several food trucks and much more, not to mention
over 600 different varieties of beer!
Patrons can enjoy discounted tickets at local hotels along with free transportation
to and from the event. Staying true to its roots, the Wild West
Brewfest is defiantly one of a kind by giving away 100% of its net profits to
local charities. All proceeds will help support Katy area non-profit organizations.
