Feeling good and giving back
Northfield’s Halo
donating portion
of proceeds to
Northbrook YMCA

For the past three years,
Northfield business Halo
Laser & Aesthetic Medicine
has helped local adults
combat the aging process
through their Botox services,
laser skin treatments
and platelet-rich plasma
therapies.
And, along with helping
adults feel their best, Halo
has also made it a priority
to help combat financial
strains area children
and their families may
have through fundraising
for various programs at
Northbrook-based North
Suburban YMCA.
After all, Halo owner
Dr. Promila Banerjee —
who serves on the board
for the North Suburban
YMCA — has strong roots
with the organization, as
she and her siblings grew
up participating in various
programs with her local
YMCA while growing up
in Wilmington, Del.
So, at the medical center’s
third anniversary celebration
and open house on
April 21, Banerjee and her
husband, Stan Menezes, are
hosting a party with specials
on treatments and earmarking
10 percent of the
day’s profits to the Strong
Kids Charity at the North
Suburban YMCA, an annual
fundraising campaign
which helps give financial
assistance to families in
need for YMCA programs.
This year, many of the

YMCA’s Strong Kids
funds will go towards
summer camp and swim
lesson assistance.
“We firmly believe in
the YMCA because it
benefits local woman and
children,” Banerjee said.
“We are in a very affluent
community, but we don’t
realize how many families
need assistance to pay
for summer camp or lifesaving
swim lessons.”
At their community
open house, the Halo
team will offer tours of
their office, wine and hors
d’oeuvres, and specials all
day long, including Botox
specials at $8.25 per unit,
25 percent off coupons for
select services and raffles
every half hour.
In the last year alone,
Halo has already donated
$5,500 to Strong Kids.
“When the Y has any
event, we have a table
there, so we go and support
all of these events,”
Menezes said. “[We have a
table] to show that we support
their causes.”
Overall, Menezes said
they’ve enjoyed having
their business in Northfield
and that their customers
appreciate their efforts
to give back to youths in
need.
“Being at Teddie Kossof
Salon and giving back to
the community has helped
us a lot,” Menezes said.
Halo Laser & Aesthetic
Medicine is located on the
second floor of the Teddie
Kossof building, 281 N.
Waukegan Road. The anniversary
party will be held
from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on
