MEETING THE NEED WOMEN’S AUXILIARY A cross the nation, The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary members are community leaders who give of their time, talent and treasure to help The Salvation Army in “Doing the Most Good.” Their mission is to be “The Army Behind The Army” helping The Salvation Army meet the need of others at their point of need. Last year the Women’s Auxiliary helped touch the lives of thousands in the Tulsa metro area through its volunteer participation in the Angel Tree Program, Red Kettle Campaign, Toy Shop and fundraising through it’s annual Christmas Fashion Show and Luncheon now in its 65th year! Through their fundraising initiatives the Auxiliary provides funds for The Center of Hope homeless shelter, providing free ACT testing at the six Boys & Girls Clubs, camperships at the Boys & Girls Clubs and audio-visual equipment for the Tulsa Area Command. They also provided funds for under privileged children in the metro area to attend summer camp at Camp Heart O’ Hills. The Women’s Auxiliary provides an opportunity for women to meet in a spiritual atmosphere, enjoy programs and relationships, and contribute skills and resources to better our community and the world around us.
