Highland Park schools have traditionally enjoyed a well-earned reputation for academic excellence. The city’s seven elementary
Highland Park High School provides a challenging,
engaging, and meaningful curriculum in a 21st century
learning environment. HPHS empowers students to
attain their educational goals and prepares them for the
dynamic, ever-changing world ahead, incorporating AP
and college-level courses, a vast STEAM curriculum, and
a broad range of curricular and extracurricular offerings.
Highland Park High School currently has approximately
2000 students and 300 staff members. The facility
houses over 70 clubs and nearly 30 sports teams. The
school was recently renovated as part of the 2013 $89
million referendum project, which created an additional
20 classrooms and computer science labs, art studios,
innovation spaces, a black box theatre, scene shop, and
athletic facility. The classrooms, labs, and spaces have
been designed to adapt to the needs to instruction and
learning, with walls and furniture that can easily be moved
and adjusted. The athletic facility features a 10 lane pool,
