Digging in at Linwood<br />
DEAN CALVERT was a pretty useful<br />
boxer in his day, and these days he’s not a<br />
bad sort of a publican.<br />
He’s mine host at the Valley Inn and<br />
when he’s not there he spends a bit of time<br />
travelling the world watching boxing.<br />
He has just returned from the Parker/Joshua fight in Wales<br />
(see page 5). He spent time in the Parker camp, courtesy of fellow<br />
Cantabrian Kevin Barry who trained Calvert during part of his<br />
career.<br />
Like any good publican he also did some industry research<br />
while in Wales: “We organised a good pub crawl one day.”<br />
It was, of course, to check on the menus for new ideas.<br />
