Intelligent Number Plate Recognition distinguishes<br />
between genuine car park users and those who<br />
park their vehicles without visiting the sites facilities.<br />
<strong>iNPR</strong> technology classifi es a ‘genuine user’ as a driver who exits a vehicle and enters<br />
the car parks’ intended sites facilities, as outlined on the published terms and conditions<br />
of parking within the signage on site, not just the vehicle as with legacy ANPR,<br />
ensuring car parks are always being used by genuine users.<br />
Once a vehicle enters a car park its movements are monitored with <strong>iNPR</strong> cameras. It records where the<br />
vehicle is parked and then tracks where the users exiting the vehicle go. Fundamentally this is making car<br />
park management much more intuitive, enabling the site to be utilised by the correct users at all times.<br />
<strong>iNPR</strong> monitors where the users go once exiting the vehicle, be it off site, or to the intended facilities.<br />
It can record a user’s movements from store to store and then reverses the last movements of the<br />
driver/passengers upon their return to their vehicle.<br />
By using <strong>iNPR</strong> technology we can now determine if users used the car park correctly, within the published<br />
time scales and if it was used for its intended purpose.<br />
It has the capability to not only detect vehicles exceeding time limits as does legacy ANPR, but identifi es<br />
non users, such as those who leave the site for commuting purposes, or going to town centres. It can<br />
pinpoint obstructive parking, such as parking in a hatched area, out of a marked bay or drop off zone.<br />
It can also monitor antisocial behaviours, such as fl y tipping, ‘boy racers’ or parking in a parent and<br />
child bay, without any children.<br />
These key features enable a better traffi c fl ow, and can increase the number of available car parking<br />
spaces at any point, which we believe ultimately leads to a better end user experience.<br />
<strong>iNPR</strong>’s intelligent data analytic technology can now be tailored to suit a multitude of sites that were<br />
previously not suitable for a camera automated monitoring solution due to site layout intricacies<br />
