Wissey U3A
Several members attended a Wissey U3A
workshop entitled ‘Learn Russian Words’ in the
Green Britain Centre on 30th March.
The Family History group’s first meeting was
on 11th April and also took place in the Green
Britain Centre. The aim of this group is for
members to share experiences and resources,
give advice to each other and generally support
each other. The group is open to experienced
researchers and people new to genealogy.
Members of the Table Tennis group continue
to meet weekly and will host a team from
Dereham’s U3A for a friendly tournament in
Swaffham’s Community Centre at the end of April.
Now that the weather is turning a little warmer
for us all, members of outdoor activities such
as Bird Watching, Rambling and Walking will be
enjoying their activities even more so and the
Croquet group will make preparations to restart
for the Summer season.
The Short-mat Bowling group meets weekly but
the Soft-ball Tennis will close in May until it restarts
in September.
If these subjects or activities interest you, or if
you have a hobby or pastime which you would
like to share with others why not make enquires
about joining the Wissey U3A.
The U3A is an international movement whose
aims are the education of retired members of
the community or those in their ‘Third Age’ of
life. U3A membership is open to any individual
who by definition is not in full-time gainful
employment, so anyone working ‘part-time’ can
also apply for membership.

Annual membership of the Wissey U3A normally
costs £10 and renewals are £7 with a small
charge of £1 for admittance to each monthly
meeting.
