Hermione
Clara Herr, of Northbrook
Hermione is a Abyssinian
guinea pig. She is 4 or 5
months old. I got her in
Evanston on Jan. 27. She
loves to make noise such as purring and squeaking
and pop-corning (where a guinea pig jump and
shakes while making “pop” noises). She has really
warmed up to me this past month and likes to snuggle
and crawl in and out of my pockets. She is not so
sure about her new brother Franklin, the wiener dog,
who has or is going to be in this newspaper for pet of
the week. But I don’t think she has noticed her other
brother and sister the two frogs. Hermione likes to
run up and down the stairs over and over and enjoys
dried strawberries. I think she loves our new family.

Police Reports
Officers confiscate several syringes from Wheeling resident
Diane Gal, 35, of Wheeling,
was charged with possession
of a controlled
substance at 10:38 p.m. on
April 22 in the intersection
of Sanders and Bordeaux.
Officers noticed a vehicle
commit a traffic offense
while on patrol.
While speaking with the
driver after stopping the
vehicle, officers noticed
Gal, who was a passenger
in the vehicle, place
something under her seat.
Officers asked to search
the vehicle and were given
permission.
They located several syringes
with fluid in them
and tinfoil with a powdery
substance.
Both items tested positive
for controlled substances.
The Cook County
States Attorney’s office was
contacted and approved
felony charges. Gal was
processed and transported
to court for a bond hearing.

April 26
• A worker from the Saks
Off Fifth store, located in
the 1500 block of Skokie
Boulevard, reported at
2:11 p.m. that a subject
was observed in several
departments of the store
with a backpack. The subject
was seen walking out
of the store with a jacket
over their backpack, which
police believe contained
approximately $600 in
various items.
April 25
• Dwayne McDaniel, 53,
of Chicago, was charged
with driving with a suspended
license and improper
lane usage at 10:03
p.m. in the 1500 block of
Skokie Boulevard.
April 24
• Unknown person(s) removed
a cash drawer and
three make up style bags
from the office area of
Andreas Hogue Salon, located
in the 800 block of
Willow Road, at 9 p.m.
• Janina Kasprzyk, 61, of
Des Plaines, was charged
with driving while under
the influence, illegal transportation
of alcohol and
failure to reduce speed
at 5:20 p.m. in the intersection
of Founders and
Waukegan.
• Chadwick L. Peyton, 37,
of Valparaiso, was arrested
on an outstanding warrant
from Porter County Indiana
at 10:51 a.m. in the
1400 block of Landwehr.
• A mailbox was removed
from a residency in the
600 block of Voltz at 8:48
a.m.
• Aldo Valencia-Ortega,
27, of Highland Park, was
charged with speeding and
driving with a suspended
license at 12:36 a.m. in the
intersection of Willow and
Three Lakes.
April 23
• Jeffrey W. March, 52, of
Highwood, was charged
with possession of a controlled
substance, drug
paraphernalia and driving
with a suspended license at
11:36 p.m. in the intersection
of Dundee and Skokie.
Officers on patrol noticed
a driver not wearing their
seatbelt. Officers stopped
the vehicle and found the
driver was driving with a
suspended license. During
a search of the vehicle,
officers located drug paraphernalia
and a controlled
substance. The Cook
County States Attorney’s
office was contacted and
approved charges.
• Ashonte Wright, 19, of
Chicago, was charged with
speeding and driving with
a revoked driver’s license
at 9:46 p.m. in the intersection
of Dundee and Juniper.
• A two-piece ring set was
taken from a residency in
the 2900 block of Norway
Pine at 2:39 p.m.
• Unknown person(s) entered
a construction trailer
in the 800 block of Timbers
Edge at 8:39 p.m. The
trailer was found unlocked
with numerous tools missing.
• Vesmir Grahovic, 20, of
Chicago, was charged with
speeding, no proof of insurance
and driving with a
suspended license at 6:20
a.m. in the intersection of
Dundee and Fair.
April 21
• Ari Greenspan, 24, of
Glenview, was charged
with failure to reduce
speed to avoid an accident,
driving without insurance
and driving while
under the influence at 6:15
p.m. in the intersection of
Dundee and Waukegan.
April 20
• Sandra Brown, 63, of
Prospect Heights, was
charged with harassment
by phone in the 300 block
of Pfingsten. A worker reported
that their company
had been receiving anonymous
harassing phone
calls and believed that
Brown was responsible
for the calls due to past encounters.
Brown came to
the police station for an interview
and was charged.
April 19
• Stuart Hadary, 54, of
Niles, was charged with
driving with a suspended
license at 9 p.m. in the
intersection of Waukegan
and Shag Bark.
• Stuart Hadary, 54, of
Niles, was charged with
retail theft at 6:07 p.m. at
the Mariano’s store located
in the 700 block of Skokie
Boulevard. Hadary was
stopped after removing a
cart full of groceries from
the store. The total value
taken was approximately
$293. He was processed
and released after posting
bond.
