Broward School District Hotline: 754-321-HELP or email: WeSupport@browardschools.com or text FL to 741741 to connect with a counselor. Broward County Resiliency Center remains open at the P-REC in Pine Trails Park Monday-Friday, noon to 7pm, Saturday-Sunday, noon to 5pm. Broward Schools has also created an online Crisis Support resource, which includes information on receiving assistance – as well as tips for parents and families for helping their children cope with this tragedy. NEA Healthy Futures School Crisis Guide – Help and Healing in a Time of Crisis This step-by-step resource created by educators for educators can make it easier for union leaders, school district administrators, and principals to keep schools safe — before, during and after a crisis. School Shootings and Other Traumatic Events: How To Talk To Students To help students who are continually hearing about senseless gun violence in or near schools and are scared about their safety, we offer advice from the National Association of School Psychologists for talking to them about violence and other national tragedies. Help from local professionals Professionals United for Parkland is a hotline to connect anyone affected by the Stoneman tragedy to referrals for Licensed Mental Health Professionals, psychiatrists, and medical doctors with expertise in grief and trauma. Professionals are offering pro bono and fee based services. The hotline number is 443-390-8343 and is open 7 days a week, 8am to 8pm. Tomorrow’s Rainbow specializes in free grief support for children and teens. There is a closed group for Stoneman Douglas teens.
