Programs and Community Events from<br />
the Department <strong>of</strong> Recreation<br />
Basketball Recap:<br />
4th Grade Girls finished their<br />
regular season 7-3. On March 10th,<br />
the Girls won their tournament in<br />
Waunakee finishing the season<br />
at 11-3. I would like to thank<br />
Jamie Satre and Ryan Redemann<br />
for coaching the girls this year.<br />
It was amazing to witness<br />
their progress in the sport <strong>of</strong><br />
basketball since November.<br />
4th Grade Boys finished their<br />
regular season 5-4. They also<br />
played on March 10th in Waunakee<br />
and lost in the semifinals by 3<br />
points to finish the year 6-5.<br />
I would like to thank Jen and<br />
Chris Hussin, Greg Anderson,<br />
Jen Tracey and Max Loetscher<br />
for coaching the boys this year.<br />
This team consisted <strong>of</strong> 3rd and<br />
4th Grade Boys which played<br />
exclusively in a 4th Grade League<br />
and played well in every game.<br />
Summer Trips<br />

Summer trips are available to<br />
any child entering 4th Grade<br />
through entering freshman year<br />
July 12: 7:15am – 8:30pm<br />
Six Flags Great America<br />
Fee: $65.00<br />
Participants will meet at the <strong>Village</strong><br />
Center and will head to Gurnee, IL.<br />
Participants will have access to all<br />
the amusement rides and the water<br />
park. If participants will be using<br />
the water park, please have your<br />
child pack a swimsuit and towel.<br />
Program participants will need to<br />
bring money for lunch and dinner.<br />
Some rides have a minimal height<br />
requirement to ride on them.<br />
July 18: 8:00am – 6:00pm<br />
Brewers vs. Cardinals<br />
Fee: $55.00<br />
Participants will meet at the <strong>Village</strong><br />
Center and travel to Miller Park to<br />
watch the World Series Champion<br />
Cardinals vs. Milwaukee Brewers.<br />
Participants will receive a tailgate<br />
lunch prior to entering the stadium.<br />
Seats are located in sections 220-<br />
221. <strong>Maple</strong> <strong>Bluff</strong> was given 18<br />
tickets, so please sign up fast.<br />
July 26: 8:15am – 5:45pm<br />
Noah’s Ark Water Park<br />
Fee: $55.00<br />
The Big Kahuna, Black Anaconda,<br />
The Plunge, Scorpions Tail and<br />
many more awesome water<br />
thrills are waiting for you on this<br />
field trip. Participants will have<br />
lunch provided by Noah’s Ark<br />
with an All-You-Can-Eat Buffet.<br />
All participants must wear/bring a<br />
swimsuit, towel, flip-flops or sandals,<br />
sunscreen and extra money<br />
to get a locker or concessions.<br />
July 30: 6:45pm – 9:30pm<br />
Madison Mallards<br />
Fee: $30.00<br />
Participants will meet at the<br />
<strong>Village</strong> Center and we will drive to<br />
Warner Park for the Mallards game.<br />
Chaperones may be needed to drive<br />
and attend the game. Chaperone<br />
tickets will be paid by the <strong>Village</strong>.<br />

This 9-week summer program provides<br />
youth (entering 2nd through<br />
6th grade) a fun, safe environment<br />
that provides fun activities<br />
at the <strong>Maple</strong> <strong>Bluff</strong> Beach Park.<br />
This program is an open program<br />
(participants may leave the beach<br />
at anytime throughout the program<br />
with written permission from<br />
parents) with attendance taken<br />
daily,. Throughout the summer<br />
participants will participate in arts,<br />
crafts, games, sports and other<br />
exciting activities. On occasion<br />
small groups may leave the Beach<br />
for other activities. Last summer’s<br />
highlight was the A&A Fear Factor.<br />
*Please note in the event <strong>of</strong><br />
inclement weather, A&A may<br />
be cancelled for the safety<br />
<strong>of</strong> participants and staff.<br />
Camp-Ya-Gotta-Wanna<br />
(March 30)<br />

(No program 7/4)<br />
Monday, Wednesday & Friday<br />
Times: 1:00pm – 4:00pm<br />
Fee: $310.00<br />
This 9 week summer program<br />
meets at Firemen’s Park M,<br />
W & F from 1:00pm—4:00pm.<br />
Enrollment for this program is<br />
open to all <strong>Maple</strong> <strong>Bluff</strong> resident<br />
children between the ages <strong>of</strong> 3<br />
and 7/8 (entering 2nd grade in fall<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>2012</strong>). This afternoon playgroup<br />
program will <strong>of</strong>fer structured and<br />
free play opportunities, as well as,<br />
arts and craft projects. Groupings<br />
will be divided based on age <strong>of</strong> the<br />
children and the parent volunteers<br />
will try their best to group<br />
your child with their friends.<br />

Ages: entering 4th – 6th Grade<br />
Instructor: Jamie Satre<br />
Fee: $40.00<br />
This 8 week instructional basketball<br />
program will provide advanced<br />
skill development in dribbling,<br />
passing, shooting, rebounding,<br />
playing <strong>of</strong>fense and defense<br />
and learning the violations in the<br />
game. The first 4 weeks participants<br />
will practice these skills.<br />
The remaining 4 weeks participants<br />
will play pick-up games.<br />

Tuesdays 10:30am – 12:00pm<br />
