Koh Samui
The premier island destination in the Gulf of Thailand, Koh
Samui is the third largest island in Thailand. While it is small
enough to be circumnavigated in just a couple of hours by
motorbike or car, the island features such a variety of beaches
and activities that it would be impossible to experience everything
in a single visit. The beaches of Chaweng and Lamai are
bustling beach towns with fabulous resorts, internationally
acclaimed restaurants and world-class nightclubs. Activities
include cooking courses, yoga instruction, Muay Thai
training, scuba diving – and even golf.
Koh Kood
Koh Kood is a pristine island ideal for a relaxing beach holiday.
Just south of Koh Chang, its more popular neighboring
island, Koh Kood, is far less developed and, consequently,
more idyllic. A flat island covered almost entirely with native
forest or coconut and rubber plantations, Koh Kood has a
number of pristine beaches with crystal clear water.
Koh Kood is located near the Cambodian border and has
an ethnically mixed population of roughly 2,000 residents,
which is slowly transitioning from an exclusive plantation
and fishing economy to an incipient tourism oriented one.
Koh Chang
The island of Koh Chang is a tropical marine national park.
Its hinterland consists of over 70% virgin rainforest and is
the best preserved tourist holiday destination in Thailand.
Situated to the east of the country in the province of Trat on
the Cambodian border, it is Thailand’s second largest island
after Phuket.
Recently, with the surge of the island’s development and popularity,
it has been elevated to Thailand’s new tourist haven. It has an
airport near Trat, just 15 minutes from the ferry terminal.
Bangkok Airways run twice-daily services from Bangkok,
Phuket and Koh Samui.
Hua Hin
Hua Hin/Chaam- Known to be one of the most charming
beach destinations closest to Bangkok, Hua Hin revels in
its continuing development and expansion. Only 3 hours
by car, with plenty of actvities to stop for on the way, Hua
Hin was once a sleepy village-like town. These days it has
grown into a major destination with fa range of boutique
hotels, seafood restaurants, and long pristine beaches perfect
for morning jogs, or more uplifting and extreme activities
like kite-boarding.
