Trade Fair
Fair shows new generation of robots
Up until 2020, the global stock of industry robots will increase from around 1.8
mill. pieces in the year 2016 to over 3mill., with an upwards trend.
Typical fields of application are pick and place applications, the handling
between different production steps or follow-the-line applications.
all be flying theirflags at the
Cologne fair grounds. Butsolutions
forefficient Industry 4.0
processesand smartfactory
scenarios are also under focus at
the leading trade fair for the food
and beverage industry.The
special event Robotik-Pack-Line
is thebestexample of the collaboration
between first-class technology
partners from different
disciplines. Underthe motto
"Digital Robotics" the automatic
linewith acapacity of 80 strokes
aminute will take over the complete
packing process on-site –
fromprimary,tosecondary
packing,through to the palletisation
–including an inline leakage
test andcontaminant inspection.The
theme robots in the
food production sector will be
addressed onthe first day of the
tradefair in the scope of the
Resource Efficiency Forum (1:00
to 3:00 p.m.).
Robot technology is abig part
of Industry 4.0. Of course also
other achievments are presented
at the fair.Smart sensors and
Cloud services are providing
added value in the food industry
step by step. The influence of the
increasing digitalisation on the
production of food is one of the
central themes. Smart factories
are to be set up in practically all
industries of the food industry,
where the machines and products
organise, steer and control themselves
autonomously.Whether
Greenfield or Brownfield: The
course in the direction of Industry
4.0 is already being tread –
now the task at hand is to solve
the networking challenges. Smart
sensors are the answer here.
One example is the maintenance
section, for instance predictive
maintenance, where the
machines have to independently
report back information on their
operational state to the maintenance
personnel. Intelligent
sensor systems take on akey role.
In addition to values such as
pressure, volumes and temperature,
the artificial "sensory organs"
also measure oscillations
and vibrations. Based on this
status data, the production is to
monitor itself to alarge extent.
Yetthis alone does not suffice.
Industry 4.0-compatible sensors
also have afurther interface in
addition to outputs for the system
control. This allows them to be
linked up to Cloud services.
Machines and process that are
equipped with artificial intelligence
create the prerequisite for
more flexibility in the production.
The visitors will be able to see
how real the smart factory is and
which challenges are involved in
implementing the vision at the
world's most important supplier
trade fair of the food and beverage
industry.
Koelnmesse
Koelnmesse is an international
leader in organising food fairs
and events regarding food and
beverage processing. Trade fairs
such as the Anuga, ISM and
Anuga FoodTec are established
world leaders. Koelnmesse not
only organises food trade fairs in
Cologne, Germany,but also in
further growth markets around
the globe, for example, in Brazil,
China, Colombia, India, Italy,
Japan, Thailand, the United
States and the United Arab Emirates,
which have different focuses
and contents than the
German fairs.
