Public golf and more at
Silver Lake Country Club
Silver Lake is a public golf course and
banquet facility that embraces the standards,
service and amenities of a private
club, without the pretense or fee. Located
in Orland Park, east of the Orland Square
Mall, Silver lake has served the Chicago
southland since 1927. For more than 75
years, the Coghill family has owned
and operated the award-winning public
course, providing the timeless tradition of
golf to everyone who loves the sport, or is
just becoming acquainted with it. Generations
of southland golfers have looked to
Silver Lake as their home course, a place
any golfer feels welcomed and a part of a
greater community.
Silver Lake offers something for everyone,
it doesn’t matter if you’re a serious
golfer, a casual golfer, a beginner,
or just interested in hitting a bucket of
balls, you’ll always have a place. Kicking
off the summer for kids and families
we have Junior Golf, Night Golf Tournaments,
Cosmic Range Parties, and Girls
Golf Day Big Break Challenge. And don’t
forget kids play free any day after 6 p.m.
with a paid adult.
Start your weekend in the newly renovated
restaurant with 4 p.m. Fridays. $25
golf, cart, burger and a beer.
Silver Lake welcomes golfers of all levels
to join their golfing community. The
property boasts two award-winning 18-
hole championship courses and an executive
9-hole course.
The North Course is the preferred
course for longer hitters, with less sand
and water, but still challenging at the tee,
close to 7,000 yards from the back tee.
The South Course is known for its
abundance of sand and water with lush
greens and fairways of bent grass. The
South Course checks in at 6,300 yards
from the back tees and challenging Par
3’s with No. 9 being a 240-yard shot over
the water.
Named Chicago’s No. 1 Sporty 9 for
almost two-decades running, the Rolling
Hills 9-hole executive course is ideal for
juniors and beginners, but still tests the
short game of a veteran. Some consider
it a Par 3 course, yet it consists of seven
par 3s and two par 4s. Juniors can enjoy
a round on Rolling Hills for only $12, or
ask about the family golf pass for unlimited
golf all summer long.
In addition to the award-winning golf
courses, Silver Lake features a natural
grass driving range and dedicated short
game area, complete with bunkers and
fairway grass. The driving range is open
daily from sunup to sundown.
Several PGA Pro’s are available on-site
to offer year-round golf instruction with
private, semi-private and group lessons
for Pee Wees, Juniors, Adults and Short
Gamers.
This Summer, the course will offer several
leagues for all levels of golfers: Ladies
Leagues, Couples Leagues and No
Embarrassment Golf, an opportunity to
play the course at your own pace after 6
p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
New this summer is the Ladies Golf
Social where ladies of all ages can come
golf Rolling Hills and socialize with other
women for a fun, laid-back environment
for women of all skill level.
Golfers may book tee times online at
silverlakecc.com or call the proshop at
(708) 349-6940 ext. 4. The Course offers
permanent tee times on the weekend for
those looking for competitive golf, from
5:30 – 9 a.m.
Family fun doesn’t end at the 18th-hole,
though. Silver Lake is also home to activities
such as racquetball, wallyball, personal
training and professional massage
therapy. It also features indoor and outdoor
event space for up to 400 guests. The
banquet facility and staff has been host to
thousands of weddings, showers and celebrations,
and is known for its impeccable
service, cuisine and landscaping views.
