David Hammer
son of Raechel & Michael Hammer, May 12, 2018
David Hammer became a bar mitzvah on Saturday, May 12. We are so
proud of him and his accomplishments. He attends Rosa
International Middle School in Cherry Hill, and is finishing the 7th
grade. David loves to travel, play baseball, hang out with friends, play
video games, and spend time with his family. He donated his time and
energy to the Animal Welfare Association, helping abandoned animals,
and delivered food to the elderly. He also will be making a donation to
the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome and Associated
Disorders. He is so excited to become an adult in the eyes of Judaism.
Thank you to everyone who helped David become a bar mitzvah.
Brad Weinberg
son of Nan & Michael Weinberg, May 19, 2018
I am in seventh grade at Beck Middle School. I live with my parents,
my 17 year old sister Ellie, my 16 year old brother Cole, and my
rottweiler, Duke. I enjoy playing all kind of sports including baseball
and basketball and I wrestle for Beck Middle School. In the Summer, I
enjoy my time at sleep away camp, spending time with my family and
friends and surfing on the beach. I also enjoy bike riding,
skateboarding, and Fortnite.
For my mitzvah project I have collected and will continue to collect
used/slightly worn sneakers to Donate to the Dunk Your Kicks
Organization. Dunk Your Kicks is a unique fundraising tool where the
sneakers collected are recycled as affordable footwear in developing
nations to raise money for families battling pediatric cancer.
To me, becoming a Bar Mitzvah means taking on the responsibilities of a young Jewish adult and
being a member and contributing to the community.
Nina Lazarovici
daughter of Andrea Dobin & Albert Lazarovici, June 2, 2018
Nina is a seventh-grade student at Beck Middle School. She lives in
Cherry Hill with her family and the two rescue cats that she adores, Abbie
and Lola. Nina is the goalkeeper for the U13 soccer team at Cherry
Hill FC. At Beck, she sings in the a cappella group Hot
Harmony as well as the Chamber Singers. Nina loves to cook, do crafts,
and spend time with her friends and family. She loves to
travel, particularly when there is a beach involved.
For her mitzvah project, Nina combined her love of crafts and
animals with her concern for the environment by single-handedly making
more than 50 braided dog toys from old t-shirts. She will be donating
them to local animal shelters. Her hope is that the rescue animals
staying in these shelters will have a much more enjoyable time while
they wait to be adopted.
Nina thinks that becoming a bat mitzvah is a milestone on her way to becoming a member of the
Jewish community. She knows it is important to take responsibility in her Jewish
adulthood. This step to being an adult is significant. She knows she can make a change by the
small acts of everyday kindness. She is very excited to become a bat mitzvah.
