STATE CONVENTION SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE<br />
GROWTH INITIATIVE<br />
In order to help grow conventions, schools<br />
that attended their respective 2017-<strong>2018</strong><br />
state conventions received an official State<br />
Convention School of Excellence award.<br />
Principals and Sponsors were mailed an<br />
official window cling to display at their<br />
school. Schools are encouraged to compete<br />
at the <strong>2018</strong> National Convention to earn the<br />
award of National Convention School of<br />
Excellence, which will be mailed out at the<br />
beginning of the <strong>2018</strong> school year.<br />
As a Beta Chapter that attended the 2017-<strong>2018</strong> state convention, we applaud you for<br />
recognizing the importance of academic achievement, visual and performing arts,<br />
leadership development, and service. Because of your participation in your state’s<br />
convention, it is our honor to present you as an official State Convention School of<br />
Excellence. Please display your new badge at your school to congratulate your Betas<br />
and sponsors for their hard work.<br />
In order to become a National Convention School of Excellence, we extend the<br />
invitation to you to compete a the National Beta Convention this <strong>June</strong> in Savannah,<br />
Georgia.<br />
Even if your Betas did not qualify for Nationals, there are competitions in which your<br />
students can participate, such as our <strong>2018</strong> National Exhibitions. In these exhibitions,<br />
you can showcase your Beta members’ cooperative teamwork, creativity, and knowledge<br />
in S.T.E.M. areas. Exhibitions include: Meeting of the Minds; Reimagine, Recreate,<br />
Recycle; Site-Up; Convention Invention.<br />
Space is limited for the exhibitions, so complete your online registration at betaclub.org<br />
by May 1. Don’t miss out on your chance to earn your National Convention School of<br />

COMMUNICATIONS<br />
• 10% Increase of convention/leadership<br />
social media followers (Facebook,<br />
Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter).<br />
• Targeted campaigns for individual<br />
leadership and conventions based on data<br />
created in new state plans.<br />
• Utilize club officer data captured from<br />
website to strengthen communication gap<br />
with students.<br />
NEW SPONSOR SUPPORT<br />
• Support new sponsors attending<br />
leadership summits and conventions<br />
by providing assistance with<br />
registration and questions<br />
concerning conventions and<br />
leadership summits.<br />
• Collaborate with New Sponsor<br />
Director to offer more support for<br />
event attendance.<br />
VIP PROGRAM<br />
• Restructure VIP to address individualized<br />
goals in each state. Make it more<br />
student-focused by inviting 5 students<br />
from each school that has not attended<br />
state convention before. These VIPs will<br />
be recognized at convention as<br />
newcomers with newly created awards.<br />
• Offer VIP at Regional Leadership<br />

development hours
