Preface
Dear reader,
We present here the Book of Abstracts for the SPOC (Specialisation Polymer and
Organic Chemistry) minor from ATGM (The Academy for Technology of Health and
Environment) of Avans Hogeschool in Breda.
In this book of abstracts you can find a brief description of the 39 research projects
that are currently being carried out by the candidates to specialize in Polymer and
Organic Chemistry. The topics of research span for the green synthesis of monomers
for biobased-polymers or the application of new polymerization techniques, to the
synthesis of building blocks or scaffolds for new (anti-cancer) medicines, revisiting of
the Knoevenagel reaction, and a lot more interesting topics.
Every year ATGM students enthusiastically work on their specialization projects for
20 weeks during which they deepen their knowledge of organic chemistry and the
management of a small research projects commissioned by different companies and
universities, or research institutes in the Netherlands and abroad.
We invite you to come to the poster session on June 28 th in LD022 where you will be
able to meet and discuss with the students responsible for their own research, their
results and insights on their topics.
We wish you enjoy the poster presentations and this Book of Abstracts and we hope
to be able to welcome you on June 28 th .
