Bangor Womens Club GFWC Announces 2018<br />
Scholarship Winner<br />
Emily Kolankiewicz a senior at<br />
Bangor Area High School has been<br />
awarded a $1000.00 scholarship<br />
from the Bangor Womens Club<br />
GFWC. She was presented the<br />
check at the clubs May meeting.<br />
Emily is the daughter of KellyAnn<br />
Colgan and Lee VanWagenen. She<br />
plans to attend Nova Southeastern<br />
University and major in Marine<br />
Biology.<br />
Emily's school activities include<br />
Student Government Association,<br />
Emily Kolankiewicz<br />
Grade Representative three years and<br />
serving as Vice President and School Board Liaison her senior<br />
year. Class Cabinet member four years, serving as President <strong>for</strong><br />
three years. National Honor Society Secretary one year; National<br />
Spanish Honor Society member three years, serving as Historian<br />
one year and Public Relations Officer her senior year. Stage Crew<br />
member 4 years, serving as Assistant Stage Manager her senior year.<br />
Boy's Wrestling Manager four years. Students Against Destructive<br />
Decisions member one year. Choir four years. Envirothon, Second<br />
Team-Aquatics one year.<br />
Besides her busy school life she also did volunteer activities<br />
at Bangor Career Linking Academy @ St Luke's her senior year;<br />
P.U.M.P Food Pantry two years; Lights of Hope one year; and Portland<br />
Community Days two years.<br />
Emily read her award winning assay at the club meeting and was<br />
wished success in her future.<br />
