The scope of this document includes the following increments of the<br />

overall plan for RARA activities:<br />

1.3 MAJOR MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES AND OBJECTIVES<br />

The following items are major objectives in the management of the RARA<br />

Program.<br />

* Continue the S&M, decontamination, and/or interim stabilization of<br />

the RARA sites in a safe, cost-effective, and environmentally<br />

sound manner until final remediation is started.<br />

* Develop short- and long-range budgets and schedules, including<br />

identification of projects to maintain the RARA sites in an<br />

environmentally safe condition.<br />

* Provide planning and engineering necessary to ensure the<br />

efficient, cost effective management of the RARA sites.<br />

* Comply with the provisions of state and Federal environmental<br />

regulations, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Orders, and WHC<br />

policies and procedures.<br />

* Manage the annual herbicide program for RARA sites.<br />

* Review and update this program plan by March of each year<br />

beginning in 1993.<br />
