How to grow from what happens
When it comes to the good things in life, we often say it’s because of hard work
and determination. Then, when it comes to the bad things in life, it was just
meant to be. Why is there such a double standard?
Sometimes we feel that way because of religious teaching, about karma or
predestination or that it is time for us to learn something. What really counts is
how you respond to what happens, not just what is.
There are a lot of things that you may feel happened to you for no reason. The
first thing that you will want to ask yourself is how this happened and why you.
The truth is there is nothing you can to change it, however, there are things that
you can do to help yourself and your family cope. When it comes to bad things,
there are many things that you say you wish you did, but you can’t go back and
relive it.
There is no point on going over the “what ifs”, because you can’t change
anything. If you can’t change anything, then why wallow. You may not be able to
change the way you feel for a long time and that’s okay. You need to allow
yourself the grieving time and you should allow yourself the anger and the
emotions. Then, you need to be able to find support in friends and family and
then try to move on.
The only thing that you can do is to help everyone cope with the changes that life
has made. If you lose someone very dear to you, please don’t become bitter. It’s
not what they would have wanted from you. What you should do is ask them for
help and strength to carry on. Remember, just because you lost someone doesn’t
mean they are gone. In some beliefs, you will see one another again. In others,
you have your memories and experiences. There is no reason for you to buddle
everything up and cut them out of your life. You have your family and friends and
you have your memories.
