Ages 13 - 16, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Teaching Artist: Steven Kasich<br />
This workshop is set up to introduce young people to the wonderful world of<br />
photography. You will definitely become better acquainted with your camera. The<br />
sessions are set up to learn and use camera and photography basics. We will learn<br />
how to expose and compose photos. Camera settings and functions will be discussed<br />
and used so everyone will have hands on photography experience. In this digital<br />
world we all take many pictures, this workshop will teach how to take better pictures<br />
and think like a photographer. Students should bring their own DSLR or other manual<br />
camera. If you have a tripod, bring that as well. Whether you are a beginner or have<br />
some photography knowledge this class has much to offer!<br />

Ages 6 - 8, 9:00 to 12:00 pm, Teaching Artist: Virginia Manning - In<br />
"The Illustrated Adventure Continued," we'll start camp each day with an<br />
interactive group story time, with a book selected for the days theme. From<br />
there, we will move on to an art project, game or song inspired by the story.<br />
<strong>Camp</strong>ers will create pop-up illustrations, fabric sculptures, and masks. We<br />
will discuss the role of the author, illustrator and publisher and the key<br />
elements of a story character, setting, and conflict. We will end the day with<br />
quiet time, a chance for campers to read a book chosen from the class<br />
library. The five themes of "The Illustrated Adventure Continued" are:<br />
Mythical Creatures, Urban Birds, A Is for Aliens, Monster Mayhem, and<br />
Creatures of the Deep.<br />
