Each day, we will begin by studying the work of a children's book author-illustrator. Together,<br />
we'll read their picture books and a biography written about them. We will discuss what<br />
elements make the books remarkable works for children. Then the class will create art in the<br />
artist's medium, inspired by the illustrator's style or subject matter. Students will explore<br />
different types of picture books, essential elements of a story, components of the physical book<br />
and the role of the author, illustrator, editor, art director and designer in the books creation.<br />

Do you like to cut and paste or to just rip and paste? In Rip it Up, budding artists will learn<br />
the basics of decoupage, using many types of paper products. Students will make a picture<br />
frame and refurbish an old flower pot. They will also apply their skills on canvas with either<br />
a landscape or a seascape creation. Artists will end the week designing a unique lamp, that<br />
when lit, is bound to make them smile.<br />

CALLING…. all creative and young artists, who are eager to express themselves while having<br />
fun in the process. <strong>Camp</strong>ers will be using the concept of perspective drawing in fun and<br />
imaginative ways while using a variety of materials and textures. We will create 1 and 2 point<br />
perspective designs with fun contemporary pop-art flare! Create a cityscape, a giant being that<br />
breaks the framing-edge of your art work, and intricate designs using your name. Learn how<br />
artists use perspective in landscapes, and how they fool-the-eye using perspective in their<br />
designs. Students will draw, paint, sculpt and use mixed media while learning valuable skills.<br />

During this camp we will explore a multitude of master artists work from Andy Warhol, Georgia<br />
O'Keefe, Jackson Pollack, Pablo Picasso, and Vincent Van Gogh. Imagine yourself being<br />
inspired by these great artists and more to create your own amazing artwork. In this camp we<br />
will encourage each student artist to experiment with different mediums, such as watercolor,<br />
acrylic paint, soft pastels, ink, oil pastels, and more. We will use a master artist pieces as our<br />
inspiration, a jumping off point to explore a style, method, or technique. The possibilities are<br />
endless as to what you can create as an artist, when inspired by the great artists of our past! All<br />
material fees are included.
