MEN IN BUSINESS
WAIKATO BUSINESS NEWS June/July 2018 27
Welcome to MEN in Business
where we pay tribute to businessmen
who’ve made their mark in the
Waikato business community.
The men featured in this
edition are high achievers.
They are powerhouses
from a variety of fields
including management, law,
accountancy, retailing and
real estate.
There are many more
extraordinary men taking
the region’s business
community ahead who we
will introduce in coming
editions.
We hope these brief
snapshots provide an
insight into what has taken
these men to the top of
their respective fields.
Kerry is a dedicated real
estate professional who has
been involved in the Hamilton
residential property arena
since 1993. He was also
active in the marketing of the
exclusive beach and canal front
properties at Pauanui on the
Coromandel Peninsula.
Buyers Guide
1) Look with your head and your
heart, logic alone or pure emotion is not
enough.
2) Do your research, follow the 5 P’s
principle. “Prior Preparation Prevents
Poor Performance”
3) Be flexible with your “must have”
list, know your priorities and what you
will compromise on.
4) Ask Kerry how to get maximum
exposure to the market so you don’t miss
any opportunities.
5) Don’t hold back your feelings, don’t
be afraid to express your interest in a
property to Kerry, you need to know as
much as possible.
6) Think of the future when buying; resale,
renovation or rental potential should
your circumstances change.
Lugtons have been and still are industry leaders
in the marketing of both residential and lifestyle
property in the Hamilton regions since 1955.
Hence, with Lugtons heritage in the development
of this City and together with the commitment
of Kerry, are extremely proud of their role in the
important buying and selling decisions of their
valued clients.
Anthony Licht
Goldsmith Gallery
Jewellery-making may be an ancient
profession but leading edge technology
and excellent customer service is what
sets Hamilton’s Goldsmiths Gallery Designer
Jewellers apart.
Anthony Licht, who established the gallery
in 2000, is at the forefront of technology,
design and technique. Anthony has two stores
in Hamilton, one in Victoria street, and
the second in Chartwell Shopping Centre.
Goldsmiths Gallery Designer Jewellers has a
superb front store that is a showcase for their
large range of unique, hand-made, imported
and NZ manufactured jewellery, as well as an
award winning workshop with four qualified
jewellers working with him.
Anthony was the first jeweller in New
Zealand to use CAD computer programming
and a Roland wax milling machine, allowing
customers to see a 3D image of their unique
piece of jewellery before it is created. To remain
at the forefront of the industry he has also
invested in a 3D printer, and he now produces
models of jewellery design from resin.
Using the CAD programme, Anthony
creates 3D images of bespoke rings, pendants,
earrings, bracelets and brooches, which can
be viewed from all angles. This allows for
proportions, dimensions, shapes and colours
to be arranged and altered, achieving a
perfect, unique and breath-taking piece.
Wax models are then made to the exact
size of the finished product.
“This is much more cost effective to the
customer as it allows any changes to be made
simply, with a few stokes of the computer
keys. Then it gets cast into the metal of
choice, perfectly, first time,” Anthony says.
Anthony and his wife Michelle have
owned and operated Goldsmiths for 18 years,
establishing the business after moving from
South Africa. They have built a reputation of
professionalism and integrity with their blend
of quality workmanship and competitive
prices. The business has grown as a result of
this reputation. The gallery is also a registered
member of the New Zealand Jewellers and
Watchmakers Association.
Anthony learned his craft as an apprentice
of his stepfather in Johannesburg, and he
relishes the process of creating customdesigned
jewellery to last a lifetime.
Remodelling jewellery is an integral part
of the business. “We specialise in recycling
jewellery. Customers come to us with
sentimental heirlooms that aren’t quite their
style, or simply old jewellery that they never
wear. Remodelling existing jewellery is a
great way to bring your jewellery back to life
or recycle something precious.”
Goldsmiths Gallery Jewellers understands
that jewellery is a very personal thing. It
should tell a story about the person wearing
it. So if you are looking for exceptional
customer service at an affordable price
where the customer is really listened to, visit
