TOWARDS DYNAMIC GROWTH
ESTABLISHED UNDER THE MINISTRY OF
DEVELOPMENT OF NORTH EAST REGION, Government of
India, the North East Council has been doing yeoman service
towards all-round progress of the eight states that the Council
oversees. Apart from economic and social development, the
Council has also recently undertaken major steps for the
promotion of tourism, art and culture. These include giving a
fillip to eco-tourism in Sikkim, promoting adventure tourism
in Assam and Meghalaya and promoting religious tourism by
highlighting the many attractions of Buddhist circuits in
Sikkim, Manipur and Tripura. These initiatives will surely go a
long way in contributing to the dynamic growth of the region.
