the PGA TOUR, during which the 30 best players in the world compete for the
the tournament’s efforts toward an enhanced fan experience at every level while
further cementing the can’t-miss event among Atlanta’s social scene and business
within her departments over the years.
A native of Ohio, Fillmore attended Ohio University and received a Bachelor of Science
in Sports Administration. She now resides in Peachtree City with her husband
Bill Bergin
Bergin Golf Designs is led by Bill Bergin, whose background in the golf industry is
distinctive. Bergin played the world's best golf courses as a touring professional,
gained an understanding of club operations and the ability of the everyday player
as a teaching professional, and acquired technical design experience under the
guidance of noted designer Bob Cupp. Since founding Bergin Golf Designs in 1994,
Bergin has combined his strategic instincts and design experience with a dedication
to detail in project management. The integration of his design vision and expertise
with the quality of his project management system is unparalleled in the industry.
Over the last twenty years, Bergin has been involved in the planning and design of
over 80 projects, including more than 60 under his own banner. Highlighting
Bergin Golf Designs’ completed projects are Oaks Country Club, an A.W. Tillinghast
renovation in Tulsa, OK, selected as the 4th Best Remodel in the U.S. by Golf Digest
for 2015; Country Club of Winter Haven, named as one of Golf Digest’s Best New
Courses for 2014; Mirimichi, Justin Timberlake’s former course and Golfweek’s #1
Course You Can Play in Tennessee for 2014; Chariot Run, of the Horseshoe Southern
Indiana Casino and the #16 Best Casino Course in the US for 2013; Foxland
Harbor, a magnificent facility on Old Hickory Lake near Nashville, Tennessee, chosen
as one of Golfweek’s 2009 Best New Courses; and Chattanooga Golf & Country
Club, an acclaimed Donald Ross restoration on the banks of the Tennessee River in
downtown Chattanooga.
Prior to his work as a designer, Bill spent six years playing golf professionally, and
three years as a teaching professional at Cherokee Town & Country Club in Atlanta.
During his competitive days, the former Georgia Amateur Champion played in excess
of 250 professional tournaments worldwide, including three U.S. Opens, two
British Opens and over 50 PGA Tour events. Competing on courses such as St. Andrews,
Royal St. George’s, Pebble Beach, Olympic Club, and Baltusrol, and teaching
golfers of all abilities, has given him an astute awareness into the strategic quality
Daryl Shular, CMC
Master Chef Daryl L. Shular is not only one of the most talented and respected
chefs in the country, but he is also one of America’s elite History Makers! In 2014
Chef Shular etched his name in the culinary history books by becoming the first African
American and minority to successfully pass the grueling 130-hour; eight day
test known as the Master Chef exam. After years of preparation and personal sacrifice
Chef Shular prevailed and earned the culinary industry’s highest honor, the
designation known as Certified Master Chef (CMC).
Shular has been recognized and featured in many media publications, including the
prestigious American historical archives “The History Makers”. His induction into
The History Makers in 2005 made Chef Shular one of the youngest ever and one of
only a few African-American chefs elected for this achievement.
The Southern born Chef remains humble and continues to make it his mission to
assist in the creation of future CMC’s throughout America. He is consistently on
tour throughout the US to empower culinary students to not just follow in his footsteps,
is the most challenging culinary skills test in the world, it’s something I’ve pursued
my entire career. It simply shows that if you are determined and believe in yourself,
dreams can and will come true”. This has become the staple of his presentations to
young, aspiring Chefs throughout the world.
As if earning the status of CMC isn’t enough, Chef Shular has a history of embracing
challenges and overcoming the odds. As a member of the American Culinary
Federation since 1993, he has received over twelve gold medals and eight “Best in
Shows” in local and national and competitions. Additionally, in 2008 Chef Shular
Regional Team that competed at the Culinary Olympics in 2012.
Currently, Chef Shular is kicking off an online culinary course, working on his first
recipe book, and even a television show displaying his skills and continuing his mission
to teach others how to live a healthy life style while still enjoying the art of
culinary cuisines! He has earned the respect due a Master Chef and he continues
