Soto, 38, of Zion, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and the use of an electronic device while driving at 1:47 p.m. on July 9 in the intersection of McKinley Road and Mills Court in Lake Forest. Police conducted a traffic stop on a 2010 Chrysler van after observing the driver talking on her cell phone while operating a motor vehicle. When officers spoke to the driver, identified as Soto, they determined her driver’s license was suspended and she did not have insurance on the vehicle. Lake Forest: July 9: • Tyler W. Dezjuantra, 28, of Danville, Ill., was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, and Bruke A. Rashaid, 29, of Danville, Ill., was charged with possession of cannabis and had a warrant out for his arrest, at 9:22 p.m. in the intersection of Route 60 and Academy Road. Police conducted a traffic stop on a white Buick sedan and spoke to the driver, identified as Dezjuantra. Officers determined Dezjuantra was driving on a suspended driver’s license. Officers on scene also smelled the odor of cannabis and, after asking Dezjuantra and the passenger, identified as Rashaid to exit the car, officers located a small bag of cannabis in Rashaid’s possession. Police also learned Rashaid had a valid warrant for his arrest outstanding from Peoria. July 7: • Rebecca E. Garcia, 22, of Lindenhurst, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license at 8:31 p.m. in the intersection of Deerpath Road and Western Avenue. Police on routine patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that displayed expired registration. When police spoke with the driver, identified as Garcia, they determined that Garcia was driving with a suspended license. Lake Bluff: July 7: • Two subjects were issued citations for violating beach curfew hours at 1:50 a.m. at Sunrise Beach. July 6: • A property damage accident was reported at 8:21 a.m. on W. Washington Avenue near Route 41. • A subject was reported harassing an employee at 4:31 p.m. in the 900 block of Rockland Road. July 5: • A hit and run that occurred on July 4 and 12:15 p.m. was reported at 10:02 a.m. • Illinois registration plates were reported lost and/or missing at 4:43 p.m. in the 400 block of Skokie Highway. • A dispute between an owner and employee was reported at 6:55 p.m. in the 0-100 block of E. Scranton Avenue. Officers spoke with the owner, who was the complainant, who stated he and an employee had an argument and he terminated his employee. The employee remained on the property, and the owner wanted him to leave. Upon arrival, officers met with the employee who then agreed to leave. • A driver was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license and operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration for a mandatory insurance violation at 10:30 p.m. on Route 176. July 4 • A vehicle was reported striking a bicyclist at 11:18 a.m. in the intersection of E. Prospect Avenue and Simpson Avenue. The driver of the bicycle was transported to Lake Forest ER by ambulance. • Officers assisted in finding a person who was separated from family during the parade at 12:28 p.m. • A black folding bicycle was reported stolen at 3:19 at the Public Safety Building. • A delayed report of two minor, two vehicle accidents involving a blue Land Rover parked on the 300 block of E. Witchwood Lane at approximately noon. The complainant stated she struck the Land Rover while driving westbound on East Witchwood Lane and then a second vehicle, described as a tan Ford SE Hybrid also struck the vehicle without stopping while she was still on location. The officer located the owner of the parked vehicle at his residence to determine whether a Traffic Crash Report was needed. The owner of the vehicle requested an informal exchange of information with the complainant and no formal traffic crash report at this time. Officer provided both known parties with the incident number and added photos obtained to the case for future reference if needed. July 3: • Electronic harassment was reported at 3:48 p.m. in the 300 block of W. Washington Avenue. The complainant stated he was receiving threatening messages via an application on his phone. July 2: • Physical threats were received via text message and were reported at 11:50 a.m. from a complainant on Sylvan Road. The complainant requested the incident be documented with the police department and no enforcement at the time. • A property damage accident was reported at 1:48 p.m. in the intersection of Carriage Park Lane and Waukegan Road. • A property damage accident was reported at 4:14 p.m. in the intersection of Route 43 and Route 176. While on patrol, an officer observed a two vehicles stopped in traffic. The officer determined the vehicles had been involved in a minor accident with no injuries and advised the vehicles to relocate to the rear of Carriage Way Shopping Center. July 1: • Retail theft was reported at 3:44 p.m. in the 900 block of Rockland Road. Officers responded a report of a vehicle leaving the parking lot after the driver had committed retail theft. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Officers conducted an investigation of the retail theft, and a show up was conducted by the complainant were the suspect was positively identified. Officers placed the subject in custody for retail theft and for no valid driver’s license. The reported loss is less than $300. June 29: • A property damage accident was reported at 10:24 a.m. in the intersection of Walnut Avenue and E. North Avenue. A officer met with one driver who stated her vehicle crashed into a parked and unoccupied vehicle. The driver advised she leave a note with her information, and did not wish to file a report at this time. The officer attempted to locate the owner of the parked vehicle with negative results. The officer provided a business card with the incident number to the driver on scene and left a business card for the parked vehicle under the windshield wiper. The officer will complete a full report pending the decision from the registered owner of the parked vehicle. • A driver was charged with driving with no valid driver’s license and one red tail light out at 10:59 p.m. on Route 41. June 28: • A two-vehicle accident was reported at 6:16 p.m. on Route 176. June 27: • A large tree reportedly fell on a house at 9:12 a.m. in the 500 block of E. Scranton Avenue. The homeowner stated she was upstairs and witnessed the tree fall on the house, but did not hear a noise. The Lake Bluff Fire department and Building and Zoning Department responded. June 26: • A two-vehicle property damage accident was reported at 11:58 a.m. in the intersection of Route 176 and Skokie Valley Road. • A two-vehicle property damage accident was reported at noon at the intersection of W. Scranton Avenue and Mawman Avenue. Unit No. 1 was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid and accident. • An item ordered on eBay was reported stolen at 2:41 p.m. at the Public Safety Building. The reported loss is less than $300. June 25: • Burglary to a garage was reported delayed at 8:56 a.m. in the 400 block of Oak Ridge Court. The report was made after a bicycle was seen missing. June 24: • Twenty four Blu-Ray DVD’s were reported stolen at 10:20 a.m. in the 900 block of Rockland Road. A officer met with the Loss Prevention regarding the theft of 24 Blu-Ray DVDs that were stolen on June 23. The theft was caught on surveillance footage and the officer will attempt to identify the offender. The reported loss is less than $300.
