MEDIA FACILITIES – KETTLER CAPITALS ICEPLEX
Work Room
Kettler Capitals Iceplex features a media work room adjacent to the ice, near the
entrance of the Capitals locker room. The work room features ethernet cables and
complimentary wireless Internet access.
MEDIA ACCESS AND INTERVIEWS
Practice Sessions
The media has access to all team practices at all practice facilities, including game-day
skates, in accordance with the NHL Media Regulations. The media is allowed to enter
the team locker room five minutes after the first regular player who has participated
in the entire practice leaves the ice. In the event of a team meeting, the media will be
allowed access immediately following the conclusion of the meeting. The locker room is
closed to the media prior to and during practice.
Per NHL Media Regulations, media access at Kettler Capitals Iceplex is limited to the
team’s main locker room and the entrance to the locker room. All other areas of the
training center are off limits to media.
Capitals game-day skates are typically held at 10 a.m. at Kettler. During the playoffs,
the Capitals will offer a shuttle bus to take media downtown at the conclusion of
Washington's morning skate.
Pregame
The Capitals locker room is closed prior to game time, although requested players will
be made available during a 30-minute window beginning two hours prior to faceoff, with
priority given to broadcast rightsholders.
Television networks, including rightsholders, requesting pregame interviews with a
player are asked to request these times prior to or during the morning skate. Head
coach Bruce Boudreau is available to the media outside the Capitals; locker room two
hours prior to faceoff.
Postgame
The Capitals locker room will be open to working media five minutes after the
conclusion of the game. Both teams' coaches and select players will attend a press
conference held at the Verizon Center's basketball practice court. The visiting team
coach will go first, followed by Bruce Boudreau.
If the media wishes to interview a player who is not present in the locker room, contact a
Capitals media relations representative who will locate the player.
Video
All outlets are prohibited by the National Hockey League from shooting game footage of
any Capitals game being played at Verizon Center.
Television and online outlets are welcome to shoot Capitals practices, but are restricted
to broadcasting five minutes of on-ice video content from any one practice. There is no
limit to the length of interviews that outlets may broadcast.

Players’ Personal Telephone Numbers
At no time will a player’s home or mobile phone number be released to either the media
or the public unless the player specifically authorizes such release. Members of the
media attempting to reach players must do so through the Capitals media relations staff;
failure to do so, regardless of a media member's existing relationship with a player, may
result in forfeiture of credentials.
Team Medical Rooms
Team medical rooms located at Verizon Center, Kettler Capitals Iceplex or any other
practice facility are off limits to the media at all times.
Autographs
Media attending Capitals practices or games are strictly forbidden from requesting
autographs. Any person with a media pass observed asking players for autographs will
be asked to leave and may not be granted credentials in the future.
